The future of SEO in 2013

Wow! What a year it’s been in SEO 2012, we’ve had the crackdown on link networks, EMD’s, Panda, Penguin, and Piranha.


Ok, I made the last one up, but there should have been Piranha update right?
It got me thinking, what on earth is Google going to throw at us in 2013? How can they top that? I had no idea, so I thought I’d ask some of my Warriors.

My guess is that the Piranha is really on its way, maybe "the shark", who knows. Best bet is to keep testing until you find something that works, then stick to it and stop worrying about these horrible animals.

I actually like these updates. Almost all unprofessional sites built by spamming noobs are being wiped out. Lower competition for the real SEO guys

i think you will see more refreshes of the same and lots of low quality sites being hit. Whatever happens SEO will not be dead it will just move to a new playing field

google will have to work out the difference between a spammer and someone who is desperately trying to keep up with seo techniques

All updates that place this year was good from user, Google remove spammer from Top 100 output, I think Google follow simple rule, Good output for Good work, Worst output for worst work.

Definitely there will an update soon, which would surprise many users as it always does. Best thing is to go with White hat, get quality links as far as possible and keep your social sharing high.

The Future of SEO is bright. But you should follow the ethical way to promote your website. Just follow the Google guidelines.

Google will get some more annoying updates in 2013 that will make the life of bloggers like me harder.

And continuing to perform it through 2013 and beyond should not be difficult as long as you build quality links that the engines want.

I couldnt stop laughing after i read this comment. But he is right. you need to test until you find something that work and then ramp that up. You can never go wrong with onsite seo. create good content

I had received some presentation from SEO firms early in 2012. I decided to take a look at these presentations once again as end of year is approaching and each SEO firm had listed the companies for whom they had high success rates. I had presentation from 10 different SEO firms and guess what all of the companies they had done SEO for have tanked and PR ranking of their clients have also dropped. None of these firms were on page 1 for their keywords.

If SEO firms who are supposed to be the experts in the field are having such a dismal year, what can we expect with our sites?

I am wondering if there is any whale in the mind of google which will blow away all the efforts.
