Hi Nick!

I missed this one. Thank you for sharing.

Nick,

I've post here, your blog nichemarketninja, send you an email and yet to see a reply.

Here again my fourth time question:
1- How did you setup at amazon as affiliate to get commission, link & banners, widgets or astore?
2- How do you know what products to pick? Any program you used?

thx

Sam

Here's how to do it. First of all you need to identify what your going to promote. The best way to do it is identify buying keywords in a niche.

Lets say the niche is gardening, but gardening is too wide a niche. This could include lawnmower, grass, flowers, pests, lights.. you get what I mean? It's too wide. That keyword gardening alone give 52 million results.
Too big, lets narrow it down. Lets choose

"garden lights"
We stick that word into google keyword tool
Using all countries and territories option, exact phases with consistent search trends with at least 500 monthly searches and above we have this:

[decorative garden lighting]
[garden light]
[garden lighting uk]
[garden lighting]
[garden lights]
[garden rock lights]
[garden spot lights]
[garden wall lights]
[led garden light]
[led garden lighting]
[led garden lights]
[low voltage garden lighting]
[low voltage garden lights]
[outdoor garden lighting]
[outdoor garden lights]
[solar garden light]
[solar garden lighting]
[solar garden lights]
[solar lights for garden]
[solar power garden lights]
[solar powered garden light]
[solar powered garden lights]

Using domain name analyzer free tool, out of all those, only

garden rock lights
garden spot lights
garden wall lights

have availiable domain names:

gardenspotlights.com
march 1600 monthly searches / 880 monthy consistent

gardenwalllights.com
march 1000 monthly searches / 880 monthy consistent

gardenrocklights.com
march 480 monthly searches / 480 monthy consistent

Stick that into micro niche finder and we get this:

MicroNicheFinder says yes for it, especially the term "garden rock lights"

Look on amazon for garden rock lights
Look on amazon for garden spot lights
Look on amazon for garden wall lights

and you'll see plenty of products. Use the affiliate links to promote the products.

Create your site, use wordpress with allinone seo plugin for maximum seo
get back links etc

So there you have it. Niche Within a niche that has an 3 ultra targeted keywords, that all have availiable domain names, that has a decent amount of month consisten search results. Choosing a niche just requires abit of creativity. Just look around your house that are physical products and throw it into google to find out the market. Keep your niche radar on all the time.

I'm giving you 3 paying keywords all for free! Lets see who registers those domain names first. I would tackle them but I got my dissertation to finish so you guys can have it if you want. This forum has been too good so I gotta give back.

Take action!

Nick it would be great if you commented on this to see if it's the right steps. I apologise if it seems like I've hijacked this thread with this long post. Just wanted to give back what you've taught me!

Thank you again

just to let everyone know that someone has already registered the domain name
garden rock lights.com lol.

To whoever registered it, it would be interesting to see if you posted back your success.

Thanks for great post...for your keyword, Google has 18mil, 9mil results ..you think search results are not important..I thought it is very hard to rank if there is more than 1mil results..

search results are important but the important ones are the ones in quotes though. The thing is even though MNF is a great tool, I'ts not really a good idea to dive straight in without looking at other factors.

I done some keyword research for the words

car dvd pioneer (free availiable domain name) 590 searches per month consistent

Type that into google and you'll get Pioneer USA - Home in 1 and 2 pagerank 5 with 38k backlinks.

You can have that if you want, Im not even going to try.

You can have a million results without quotes that are a load of gibberish even with the keyword but it doesnt mean they are competing. The ones in quotes are your real competitors and they sometime don't even appear on first page which is why if you do it better than them then you might appear on first page.

Correct me if I'm wrong someone.

Example. I have a domain name I secured at www.PHPExpertSystem.com which i purchased about 1 month ago. If you google "php expert system" without the quotes, there are 5 million results. You can see my www.phpexpertsystem.com on 4 results and thats without any seo apart from name of the website.

Great to hear, thanks.
I have built up my network of websites over 6 years, I now try to create a new site every 2 weeks. No, not All amazon sites. Amazon make up about 10% of my sites. All my promotion and traffic comes from ranking well after executing a good SEO strategy. I don't spend money on Adwords, and while I know many people live and die by Adwords, I have, in my opinion, more sustainable things to spend my money on.
Cheers

Nice, sounds like a great site. Selling software, especially utilities, has endless opportunities for different Niche Markets. In fact download.com has been the source of the idea for many of my Niche websites.

When you say your idea source has been download.com, do you mean you find products with affiliate programs to promote or do you create your own competing software to sell?

No, mainly just source ideas for what is popular, and then search around the net for Affiliate networks that have vendors selling similar software.

Hello Nick,

I have been trying to earn online since last year May (its going to be a yr next month), yet still struggling to launch a website of my own on any niche let alone earn from it. You have really affect my perception about IM because I have always been mislead by the so called guru's blue print "make money online niche" thus, I never have the concept that people are making so much money from other micro niches. I have been sucked - so sad !

I have some few things to ask you, sorry it might be funny coz I am still new;

1. I want to PM you but I dont know how ?
2. How can I be an affiliate of amazon atleast to start and focus on one thing with the knowledge gain from your videos ?
3. I would also appreciate to have your contact i.e skype or so.....?

You need to watch Nick's keyword research videos so that you can understand the area you're going to promote. Lots of people say promote what your passion, what you're good at but I like to say promote what people are buying. Use google to find item keywords then use amazon to find a matching product.

https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/
have a decent website first so they can accept you.

Once your in your amazon account, there are tabs that say link banners, widgets. Go through them by typing in the product you want to promote and you will be given your links.

I was looking through the forum and I saw this post and I was like hmm how is that possible but I watched your video sounds really good

I have made some sales from amazon associate program but wow never ever that much im still trying to understand how that is even possible doing a simple niche site on a child toy I dont know something just dont seem right partically cause I promoted amazon alot and rarely have success

this actually the first time I have heard of someone making that kind of money with amazon cause as we all know they are probably the lowest paying but if you can get those type of sales then might be worth it but thats just my two cents

Nick,

How many clicks does it take on average to make a sale in Amazon? Normally people don't end up buying what you're selling and buy something else, at least in my experience.

I've noticed that it's just not fixed, and you can run hundreds of clicks and not make a sale at all. Is this normal? What would be a decent rate of return, or shall we say, CTR?

Wow, I'm so looking forward to watching that!

My experience? I made about $4 a few years ago but hadn't done much with it lately and decided to try again.

I couldn't log in. I filled out the trouble ticket, e-mailed them, nagged the heck out of them...no response.

I opened a new account. couldn't log in. I filled out the trouble ticket, e-mailed them, nagged the heck out of them...no response.

A few days later they sent me an e-mail, "We noticed you haven't gotten any referrals yet; can we help?"

I replied with what I wrote above...no reply.

So that's where it stands. Glad to know they apparently aren't completely beyond hope.

Earlier in this thread I posted some keywords in the garden niche free for you guys to take.

"Garden Spot Lights" was one of them.

garden spot lights - Google Search

If you search in google.com, you will now see the website ranking on the 1st page at position 6. With abit of work that owner can get it to rank number 1!

Good work. Theres still one keyword left

"garden wall lights"

Thanks for mentioning this, it is so true! So many affiliate marketers shy away from Amazon because of the generally low commission rates, what most of them don't realize is the true power of the Amazon brand and that trustworthiness of the Amazon brand helps keeps conversation rates sky high. I too average about a 15% conversation rate.

Hi John,
Technically, the aStore is great and is probably the easiest way to pin a "shop" facility onto any website. My conceren is that I perefer not to link directly to amazon from any of my Niche Websites as I rather handle linking through nofollow redirects. With aStore you have no control over the linking.

Michael
When searching for your potential keyword in quotes in Google, is there a certain number of results we should be looking for? Is a keyword search in Google (with quotes) that has less than 10K results easy to go after? Or should we just focus on the first page of the SERPs for the competition?

Also when checking for available domain names is OK to get a domain name for a keyword and add another word on the end of it? For example if your keyword is "small blue widgets" and both the .com and .net are taken, can you just register "smallbluewidgetsinfo.com" or "smallbluewidgetsresource.net?" Or should we just stick to the exact keyword in the domain? By adding another word wouldn't you be able to target so many more keywords that way instead of bypassing ones that are already taken?

Hi there

This is what I've learnt from the Ninja man himself and the use of Niche Micro Finder:

Niche Micro Finder suggests going for keywords in quotes under 10K results.

Ninja man suggests that the first page results should not have strong competition even with under 10K in results. Competition like Web2.0 sites / wikepedia or the actual brand name itself eg Pioneer.

eg "car dvd pioneer" in google.com gives back 7,710 which is under 10k. NMF gives green light and says go for it.

Without the quotes, your search results contain:
www.pioneerelectronics.com
www.pioneer.co.uk and more

5 Links down, and these are big names with PR 5 with 38k backlinks.

Now just because you got a nice keyword that has low competing sites, high search volume, it doesnt mean you will be able to move high up on first page. What you can do is try to elmininate the obstacles as much as you can and then "challenge" for a position. Nothing is guaranteed.

Micro Niche Finder is not perfect but it works well, you just need to use abit of common sense.

This is my tip here:

Get Micro Niche Finder.
10k results or lower
First page competition must be weak eg Zero PR, low back links.

The way I assess first page competition extremely quickly is by using Firefox plugin Seoquake. Saves so much time as it displays PR, Backlinks etc.

I hope this helps.

Just to add. All over the Warrior Forum you will get people saying
find keywords with less than 10k in quotes. Although good advice, it's not strictly true though.

Perhaps it's good advice for a newbie to follow so that they don't get overloaded with information making it easier for them to take action, I dunno?

Lets look at it this way. A keyword could have "100k competing websites in quotes" but it doesn't really mean they are competiting, they just happen to have the keyword in that position. (Lets just imagine that not all sites are actively doing SEO, and this is probably the case)

100k Competing pages in quotes
Using SEO quake, the first page competition has low PR, low backlinks

There's no reason why you can't target that keyword and be better?

Does anyone agree? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Michael,

Thanks for your input. What's your take on domain name selection? Does it have to be that exact keyword with either a .com or .net? Or can we add another term to the end of it? Also what is your take on using blogger blogs instead of an actual domain name, i.e. http://smallbluewidgets.blogspot.com." Or is it better to do something like "www.smallbluewidgetsinfo.com" if the "smallbluewidgets.com and smallbluewidgets.net" is not available?

I just did in a search in Google for ""car dvd pioneer" (in quotes) and it came back with only 564 results. Without quotes there are 17.6 million results and pioneerelectronics has the the top 2 spots. With quotes the top spots is not pioneerelectronics. How did you get 7710 with quotes for that keyword?

Try this for "car dvd pioneer"
"car dvd pioneer" - Google Search

I'm using google.com

As for domain selection, and with Nick's niche marketing process, the domain MUST have they keyword and only that keyword because you have more weight (even without seo) in the eyes of google. I know from experience with one of the sites I'm still developing. I did no seo and it was sitting on page 2. Now I'm at 7th spot on page 1.

If your keyword is smallbluewidgets, then make sure you get a domain only with smallbluewidgets. If you can't get the exact domain name then find a new niche, theres plenty out there so don't get hung up on it. I know what it feels like to want a certain domain and not being able to get it and then sulk. But if your looking at it from a money making point of view. We're here to make money and provide useful information. Nowadays I find new niches left right and center, plenty of birds in the sky.

Does not matter if it's a .com or .net, if your site is at number 1 on google, people will click no matter the extension. Your probably asking which one does google favour? .com or .net or any other extension. Google favours none, it only favours relevancy.

As for blogspot, that should be used as part of your seo strategy. There's no reason why you cant use a blogspot websites as oppose to your own domain but you will have to work extra hard to have the same seo effect compared to having the exact domain name as it is.

So when picking the domain do you pick the singular form or plural form? Let's say Google Keyword tool indicates monthly search volume for "small blue widget" is 850 and for "small blue widgets" it is 575. Do you go with "www.smallbluewidgets.com" or www.smallbluewidget.com"? If both domain names are available do we go with the plural form since that contains the singular form as well (even though there is less search volume)?
