Hello everyone, I've been doing some research and have chosen a couple of Keywords. I've included them in the content of my website but someone has mentioned the need to "tag" your website with your keywords - How do I do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Elaine, I think your thinking of putting the keywords in the meta tags? You put them in the title, the meta tags, the h1, h2 tags and the alt image ads see this for more info How To Use HTML Meta Tags - Search Engine Watch (SEW) |

That is on-page optimization Actual HTML code and meta tags are just some of the factors that have an effect on your Web site or Web page listing in natural search results.

'Tag' can also be construed as a Tagging feature of a blog. This is like creating a Tag cloud of the keywords which is a part of on-page optimization. But, don't over do the keywords to avoid the element of spamming.

Yeah too many people mix up tags you put on your blog, squidoo, etc., and meta tags. The tags like the aforementioned are basically for internal search capabilities and are never seen by google. In fact, they are meaningless even to internal search if they are not in your content. Content once again is king. Paul |
