Site deindexed

Hi Warriors,

Last night my amazon affiliate site got deindexed from google. 50 pages of unique reviews and months of hard work down the drain. Seriously I am amazed by this event. And yes I did do a "site: " check... its not there anymore. Also there are 33 back links pointing at the website, so I would assume this isn't even enough volume to trigger a filter of some kind. Even if it did I would be indexed, but with loss of rankings. If I compare this to other sites I own it makes no sense whatsoever.

The strange thing is though, it would appear to me that a deindexed site does not maintain it's PR ( I did a check for deindexed sites and they have PR: n/a), and my deindexed site still maintains its PR.

So my question: Do deindexed sites maintain their PR? Could it be a mistake?

My Amazon site got deindexed too at the same time as you.

Did get some backlinking done with a Fiverr gig recently, thinking that must be it.

Was really starting to get some momentum too. Am shattered.

Is it even possible to recover from this, or will I have to get a new domain and start again from scratch?

I am curious though: Did your site maintain it's Pagerank?

I had no PR to speak of, Robaski, site was only 4 months old and I had done little off-page SEO.

Robaski, were you using a particular script? Mine was a FSB store.

I was using a plugin to write the reviews, I dont know if you would call that a script. Other than that I have used no scripts or seo plugins. The site was crispy clean. Especially compared to some of my other websites that are not so clean , I have never had a site deindexed like this. Im am completely puzzled.

I would recommend installing the firefox pr toolbar that comes with seobook. Its instant and loads with every page you open within your firefox browser. Very handy so you never have to look up PR again.

It's basically going for low competition keywords. All content, no off-page SEO except pinging, and getting them indexed through socialADR or onlywire.

Yep all 37 pages with 500+ words of unique handwritten content. Been live since early October. Site has 33 back links (!). Site has PR3, and still after being deindexed the Toolbar PR is still visible. Weird... just plain weird.

Give it a couple of days. I've heard others where it was gone for 10 days and it came back.

Is this just one site? Are you working on multiple sites? Right now I have 4. So far none of them are deindexed. But I'll keep you posted.

Deindexed sites always show up as PR n/a, maybe Firefox needs some time to update it.

Anyway I would just move the posts to a new domain and keep on adding again.

Make sure that you don't use an excessive amount of affiliate links per page btw, that could be one of the reasons.

Ive just installed Google Webmaster Tools and submitted a sitemap. Ive also asked to have Google crawl the page. Im pretty sure it will not matter, but I need to stay positive and hope I'm wrong in thinking this site is ruined.

@GGPaul: This is my third one and the first I made, with the most content on it. The other 2 are fine, but this one was just starting to do well.
@Niko: Ok thats good to know about the PR. Will keep a close eye to see if the PR gets removed within the next few days. Regarding the affiliate links: 3 per article, that hardly seems excessive imo.

Hello friends, my site was also deindexed using the same strategy no backlinking right from the start. Unfortunately I just started building links 5days ago.

I remember in december my site did the same thing and disappeared for 10days but came back. I was using a wordpress plugin that helps to place your keywords in meta tags i think its YOAST plugin or so, all I did was to uninstall the plugin and I came back in 10days.

My site has over 200 pages and doing extremely well. I was deaf when ggpaul told me to create a new site and split my work in 3places but I planned to sell my site and instead decided to put more work on this site that got tanked so that i can sell it on flippa and outsource my writing job, because i am tired of writing.

Well I did 1k plus in 3months and I would say it was worth my effort. And if it comes back then its great for me. Well with no delay am already moving the content to a new site. and i think i will split the content to two new domain at the same time.

PR updates are calculated for all websites at approximately a 3 month interval. Last PR update was on February 5th.
If your website lost PR you will see that at the next PR update.

One of my sites is also deindexed but it has pr1 now..

I cant find any reason as why my site got deindexed, but I am sure that with 37 pages of content they can always find something wrong, every site has its flaws, no site is perfect. Still waiting to see if the toolbar PR turns grey and n/a within the next few days, so I know for certain its gone from the google index. If it happens to be deindexed for certain, I will then start by filling a reconsideration request to see what happens.

@ Robaski how can i file a reconsideration request because i did nothing wrong as well. But as you said from over 200pages of course something must have gone wrong somewhere. are you in the electronic niche?

Because the last time this type of issue happened it was mostly those in the electronic niche that was affected. and as for my site the PR is showing n/a from PR0 for the homepage.

1. Put your root url in Google - your site must appear first, if don't is penalized
2. Put your metatitle of homepage in Google - your site must appear in first 3 pages is a text like this " My Money Keyord - Check this out!", if metatitle is only a keyword "My Money Keyword" use quote to make search. If the site don't appear at all is penalized.

Remove all links that you put in the last week and make a reconsideration.

I may not know anything, but just thought I'd mention this. When I'm looking for expired domains, so many of them have great pr but no backlinks and may have even been deindexed and thats why they were left to expire. So, if this is the case, maybe domains hold their pr even if deindexed... ?

@masterpeez4py: you need to install google webmaster tools, verify ownsership, then you can ask for google to have the site indexed with help of google webmaster tools.

I have 6 amazon sites.

6 months and we were getting around 10 -20 visits a day on each.

Feb 4th they all dropped traffic to 0 - 2 visits a day.

WebmasterTools shows impressions down from 800 a day to 5 a day on 18th Feb

No warnings in webmaster tools. Still indexed using site: and appears first in a search if i create and index a unique page

the two sites that were ranking for their key words dont rank for those keywords anymore.

No i am saying if I produce a page with a unique meta title I can index in first position thus proving it not an indexing problem

Check both www & non-www when doing the site: search, I've seen different results on sites before.

Also double check your live web page HTML source code for the keyword noindex, you wouldn't believe how many times I've had people ask why their page/site is deindexed, I look at the source code & the webmaster accidentally deindexed their site/blog with a noindex tag (SEO plugin, WP Admin. setting).

Thanks for the tips Yukon, unfortunately no luck.

Since I opened Google Webmaster Tools yesterday, I see the sitemap has been submitted successfully and 2/3 of the sitemap is indexed.

When I check the site's health it does not show any indexed urls.

@ Rosbaski, is your site in the electronic category? In december when this type of situation happened it mostly affected those in the electronic niche. And i came back in 10days without reconsideration request, i have sent a reconsideration request and i hope i will get a positive reply. i will keep you all posted

Something that is also not really helping you guys is that you spam every single page with crappy bookmarks through that plugin, so you can say, NO I AM NOT BUILDING LINKS, but in fact you are, and one of the lowest quality's that are available online.

Cloaking affiliate links is also seen as a malpractice so could be one of the reasons as well. Besides that I wouldn't use a fixed amount of affiliate links on each page. Mix it up and throw up posts without any affiliate links or just 1, what also can help to increase the authority of your site is turning it into a price comparison thing so that it adds some extra value to your visitors. Price comparison sites have always done pretty well and they still do. Look at Nextag or Sears for example (not sure if the last is comparison but you get my point).

I just go to cnet.com and take notes from how they handle their reviews.

I stopped using onlywire and any of that social bookmarking stuff COMPLETELY. I might even stop pinging who knows.

pr stays with a site even if deindexed until the next pr update

if you think your content is good, zip it all up, backupbuddy, whatever and put it on a new domain, consider your old site a lost, imo reconsideration is junk and a joke, why bother. your gonna spend more time trying to "fix" a problem that will never be fixed cuz google see's that your site is doing seo, and google doesn't like seo no matter the color of the hat.

Am already moving my content to a new domain, and i hope everything goes fine with that one.On the other hand a outsourcing my write ups with my first amazon payment because on google group they said my site looked like a spun article directory.

Articles i took time to write was refered to as spun, well i admitted and this time i might use 3 affiliate links instead of 4. i just hope nothing bad happens again as i try to standup on my feet.

go and check Google webmaster tool for further instructions. I think you need to submit website for reconsideration.

you can see the deindexed website PR upto 30 days only...then after pr=(n/a)
