Well you could submit to free press release sites, send links out over listservs (hosted on .edu servers often), RSS submissions, mini- or auto-blogging.

Those are all essentially spam techniques. They only work because of weaknesses in the algorithm and will probably be devalued eventually. The best links you can get are editorial, but you've got to be creative for that. It's all about link baiting and getting some content viral.

* Building a software and submitting to software directories * Build a video and submit to video sites * Press release * Build an ebook and submit to ebook directories * Build an audio file out of an article you wrote and submit to podcast directories * Buying links * Link from your existing websites (and a couple of other techniques) .. but that's just me ))You have enough to start your SEO war now )

That's a whole lot to go through manually though. I mean for $20 you can buy some decent links that will do more than all of those techniques combined and how long does it take to do all that? Always trade money for time.

I think the easiest, free and legit way to get high quality and natural links is to write excellent, useful, information rich content and add it in your site. People finding that content useful will link to your site for free.
Can that be called as link building technique ?

I will add 5 powerful link building strategies that you've forgot to include:
1. Send testimonials to the products you bought. 2. Parasite hosting - create websites to several free web-hosting companies like wordpress, blogger, hubpages, squidoo, freeservers, etc. 3. Submit videos to video sites and put a link description. 4. Create viral script and give it away. Let your site in the footer. 5. Create wordpress, joomla, phpld and other CMS themes and submit it to several theme sites. Let your site in the footer. Ross |

I've been busy developing sites and products lately so haven't really done an baklinking except for a number of article submissions. My sites haven't dropped in traffic at all and in some cases the traffic is increasing.
I need to pull my finger out though and design a few SEO campaigns otherwise my new sites will struggle. |
