Is there any way to automatically pause a adgroup/campaign, by inserting variables for example: after impressions are over 1000 pause campaign or after 50 clicks paused campaign. Cheers |

Yes, but you can only go by budget. Like the number of money you spend and etc, but if you do the calculations of the number of clicks you a buying, and how much you are paying for, you can get an idea of how many clicks you are going to get for your money.

I'm assuming you're in test mode. In that case you need to setup a daily budget. impressions don't really matter. What you need is a converion ratio. You can get 1000 impressions an clicks on your ad. That won't help you at all. In fact you might get google slapped.

You can set-up a daily budget which is what most advertisers do. If you just want to test it then have a budget of $20 a day or something.

the reason why i want my campaign to stop after a certain amount of impressions, is because i would have to monitor the campaign for every minute, because the keywords im bidding on get over 1,000,0000 searchers per month. So imagine not watching your account, those impressions would destroy your accounts CTR history, thus increasing ad costs in the future.

Domain names and AdWords accounts are disposable. Time is not. Rather than testing slow to be sure, I'd rather just burn through 5 domain names and 2 accounts. Domain names are the first to get affected by QS history. If you notice your QS goes down or your ads stop running on that domain, just toss it and buy a new one. After 2-3 domains, toss the account and keep testing in a different account. You can have as many AdWords accounts as you want as long as it's connected to your MCC account. It's OK in the Google ToS. Add new accounts to your MCC and disconnect them when you're done with them. You can also test on throwaway accounts and then add it to your real account after you've found what converts. Be careful with super-volume keywords. I'd test their long tails first, make sure they convert before even trying those keywords. Usually you need a killer budget to even make a dent in those keywords. - Derek | |
