Hey SEO experts, what is your take on this...
I launched a new site about 5 weeks ago, and after 2 weeks it was ranking on the first page for a couple of fairly competitive long-tail keywords. I started some serious back linking efforts around this time but the vast majority of those have not been spidered. At the same time also introduced a pop-up to capture incoming leads, and then... *SLAP* The site was nowhere to be seen (well, it has since reappeared on page 4) Has anyone seen Google penalize a site for utilizing pop-ups? Would I be any better off introducing a non pop-up lead capture form? Thoughts? |

I guess your site was in the top results due to the QDF factor which G is known to use for newer sites/content. You can read more about the QDF factor HERE
