The best ways to get traffic are through good unique content and backlinks. Focus on having lots of pages with good content and then start getting backlinks to not only your homepage but also to individual pages (deep links).

The first thing I would ask you is what is it your blog is offering that can't be found elsewhere? Do you have knowledge about the subject your blog is about? What kind of traffic are you looking to get? What is your purpose of building this blog? Are you just throwing up some scraped content and plan on placing some adsense ads on it? Or do you want real visitors who come for a reason.

You asked how you can make your blog better, I think that is obvious, provide original content.

You state you are new to blogging, well the quickest way to fail is to try and take a shortcut. Create something unique, something original , give the people a reason to actually want to come to your blog and the rest often takes care of itself. If you just keep throwing up scraped content, you'll be asking this same question 12 months from now..

Best source to get traffic are the search engines. So try to improve your SERPs and you will then get all the traffic that one need.

Doing SEO would help your traffic in the long run but if you are in hurry, just post in forums and blogs plus social bookmarking..

my advice is this if you want traffic I mean 4000 to 5000 visitors in a day then you need to work hard that is write articles say five articles in a day ping your blogs say 5 times in a day and join forums join as many as you can join for me i belong to about 50 if you can do all this I tell you google will respect you

You need good content, submit to social sites and bookmarking sites, create articles and publish, join forums and make your presence felt.

All this can be semi automated using the right software.

Traffic is less of a problem than converting it!

Build good content and remember that content is king. With good content you can launch a successful SEO campaign. SEO brings me 80% of my traffic and will bring the most targeted traffic if you target long-tail keywords.
