Squidoo Health

I've seen the squidoo health link on my lenses when editing, but
never saw any need to click. I thought this meant something
else like rank or something.

I did click on it and this health link gives a rundown on what
is good and bad about the lens, and how to improve it.

I am now actively using this health link to 'optimize' my
lenses.

If anyone is interested, the health link on the main dashboard
page is more exhaustive then the 6 or so on the lens editing
page.

If this has been posted before, sorry!

Also, does anyone know how this optimization is looked upon
by squidoo? Does it give you extra points somehow? Does
their optimization transfer into basic optimization tips for
any web page?

Squidoo health lens is a useful tool which informs new lensmasters of the common mistakes which are made. This tool cannot read the content on your page, but only looks at the tags and if the tags contain relevant keywords. It also examines the introductory title and looks for keywords in it. Any suggestions made by this tool definitely helps your lens in getting a high ranking with search engines.

The health tips will definitely help optimise your lens and possibly improve the ranking while it does not mention all of the things that can be done to improve the lens.

I never knew the tip about adding your primary tag to
your list of regular tags. I thought tags were tags were
tags.

How do you fix a lens after you have checked the the health button on the edit page and then main dashboard and apparently they are in conflict with one another.

E.G. I hade the health button on the edit page say my keywords were fine, but when I check with the health tab on the main dashboard it was saying that my main keywords do not match the content. How is this explained and how can it be fixed?

yep, Squidoo health check is really a great tool to get suggestions to improve our lens effectively. And, it will help us to improve ranking of our lens in SEs.

You need to optimize your tags, with combination of body content, its better to find a density tool for your keywords targeted, so your page easily top in squidoo(and also google) if people searched with your targeted keywords..

The Squidoo "health" of your lens may help your rankings improve on Squidoo, but not necessarily at all on the search engines. What Squidoo wants and what Google wants are not the same thing at all.
