Those sites look so lame. What REAL site have you seen that uses those cheesy rainbow-colored "visit site " buttons?

Theme has absolutely nothing to do with CTR or conversions. A site with the basic 2012 theme can convert just as well as well as a site (and even better) using some $400 theme. It's all about the content and the aesthetics of the site.

Those lame "-zon"themes are terrible. Do something more original.

Don't buy any of them. Most of those are produced by the same people. Their support of their theme products is a joke and you will end up with more trouble than you bargained for.

Content is what counts. Use any theme that is easily readable.

I would say that use any theme which you think SEO friendly of.

And use Amazon plugin for this purpose, to display ads etc.

Egh... Stay away from Amazon plugins and definitely don'tuse the SEO SearchTerms Tagging 2 plugin as it's known to get sites deindexed.

  You read one thread where a blathat king gets continually penalized when he activates this plugin then come in here and tell us it will get us deindexed?!?!?!
  
  He was penalised for keyword stuffing not for using this plugin. Activating this plugin made his pages keyword stuffed.. double over optimisation

I like the popular Azon Theme from Chris Guthrie. It's a bit work to set it up properly, but after that it converts great for Amazon.

Customized default Twenty Twelve theme. Hands down!

Benefits? Minimalistic design, no bloated code, light and most of all it's mobile responsive. You don't want to miss out on those visitors using smartphones, specially when their numbers are increasing every day.

I don't like getting locked into a theme...I use a Amazon plugin and any theme that is SEO friendly..

That way later on your can upgrade of change the theme
