Can anyone direct me to some reliable web hosting packages that provide unique C-class IP addresses even for the add-on domains ''on one main hosting account'' ?

Once it is an add-on dmain, you can not assign dedicated ip. It gets ip from main domain. The domain has to be seperate domain. . |

| That's not a true statement. It depends on your backend software. I use nexcess.net with InterWorx control panel and I can request as many dedicated IP addresses as I want ($2/month fee). They don't always give you a distinct class-C, but if you butter up the right support person, sometimes they'll help you out.

Actual add-on domains are like a subfolders under a main account. If you ftp into your main account and see your domains like this: /mainaccount.com/ /secondsite.com /thirdsite.com/ Then those are not add-on domains. You are creating sites in your reseller panel parallel to your main account. You can assign ips in this case. If you see your sites like this - /mainaccount.com/ /mainaccount.com/secondsite.com/ /mainaccount.com/thirdsite.com/ then they are subdomains or add-on somains. .

I ASSURE YOU, you can convert a shared domain to a dedicated IP address. I've done it many times on several different hosts.

Hello, Ehicks, I will appreciate if you'd reveal some hosts which provide dedicated c-class ip addresses for the main domain account as well as add-on domains pls. Thanks. I'd browse thru their offerings/specs. Thanks, Rajul |

Ok, I have to ask... I'm guessing the "C Class" you are talking about is a Class C subnet - 255.255.255.0 Why the need for these specific "C Class" addresses? |

Also, this is how you can hide an entire linking network from Google. If you plot out your ip addresses and DNS servers strategically, it'll be very difficult for Google to automatically discover your linking network.

IX hosting gives you 15 unique IPs on their shared hosting plan. Not sure if they are cross-class C or not... Also to clarify for you. Not all shared hosts use the sub/add-on domain approach to 'unlimited' accounts. Many use something called 'multiadmin' where you actually get your own cPanel for every single domain. |
