Anchor text in an email does nothing for your backlinks, you need to have your backlinks on a website that allows you to leave a link.

I guess I really don't know but it doesn't seem logical to me that they would because email isn't indexed in the search engines. Tsnyder |

if you send an email to someone, and the send message was stored in a "Web based" engine that is accessible WITHOUT a password... Then yes you've just created a backlink to your website ![]() Seriously thought... a link in an email doesn't count, because it is "inaccessible" to search engines. Any email you send... is stored into a "protected" place... either on a computer (like outlook, eudora, thinderbird...etc..) or on the server (web based email accounts) like google/hotmail/yahoo mai...etc... So... in order for the back link to count, it has to be "accessible"... this also means that links inside protected forums (i.e. private forums) aren't counted... Unless search engines have some how figured out how to crawl into password-protected directories as well ![]() Thanks, Tamer | |

It could be also a backlink if your email was directed to a web based email. If it is then it is great to use email in creating anchor text.

Since email is not indexed and available to search engines, links in email do not count.

Although as standard a link won't help, it is still wise to do it. Emails often get posted to forums etc, so it may benefit you, you just never know
