| Ive just setup campaigns for certain keywords that have no competition. If I search these particular keywords in Google, there are no sponsored listings ever shown, however, 70-80 people approx search these terms per day. I set up campaigns to target these keywords and set my Max cpc to 0.05, but Im not seeing my own ads. I am seeing however in my reports that they are indeed having impressions... but not as near as many as they should. So my question is... Does setting my Max cpc to something very low like 5 cents prevent my ads from showing up all the time even when there is no other competition? I mean, there is no other competitionfor these keywords, so what would prevent me from setting Max cpc to 5 cent? My ad should be showing up everytime? Right? Thanks for any help. |

Whether google deem the cpc too low to show my ad all the time. Maybe they are limiting my impressions because my max cpc is set 0.05 cents... But then that sort of contradicts googles whole adwords system... Can anyone else help me out with this? Cheers | |

Hey there, In my experience the answer is no. I've tried several times to get typos and other zero competition keywords to show up for 0.05 bids. It just doesn't work. I suspect Google has a minimum eCPM they work out of. If they believe their eCPM is lower than this minimum the ad just doesn't show. You should probably start your bids at 0.20 and then lower it if your CTR is good. That said, if you do one landing page per keyword, one ad per keyword you might be able to get it to show for 0.10 cents because your QS is good enough. I'd still start it at 0.20 though. -Derek |

There may be competition, just not in the region you're searching from.

there can be a few reasons for this. 1. If you just started with Adwords, then Google will take a few weeks for you to build up credability (and spend some money!). 2. The way you 've set up the Match Types for your keywords. For example, if you have phrase or exact match then you may not get the clicks. Try broad match just to test this. 3. Make sure you are targeting the correct geographical areas. If you are promoting CPA offers - some are only available in specific countries. I've been generating cheap keywords with my tool for a while now and I generate 5-10cent keywords that even Google does not show in the keywords tool. And all my Ads show up ok. DZ |
