Adsense: Ad unit versus Link unit?

Which one do you use, and what are the pros and cons? Thanks!

I use ad units mainly as they seem to give the best returns.

Link units have their uses though, with the primary benefit maybe being that they take up less space. The downside being that you'll need a visitor to click twice before you make any money.

Try setting up some channels and running some tests

I have used Link Unit to greatest effect but I like to do experimenting. I have little success with Ad unit but I guess it depends on your site's theme and the type of traffic you are getting.

Yes, you're going to get a lot of answers that recommend both of these. There's no substitute for testing. Find out which converts best for your particular site's theme, layout, etc. It's the only way to know.

Thanks for all your replies! Could someone give me examples on what kind of sites prefer ad units and what kind of sites prefer link units?
