Hi Syed, The more competitive the keyword the more time and effort it is going to take. It can takes months to see real progress in highly competitive markets, 15 days is not very long. Keep up the work, check your progress every few weeks and you will see results. |

It take me about 8 months with more than 400 postings in my blog with a PR4 into the 1st page of Google. I am in the most competitive niche - weight loss. To do that I have used the following: (1) Angela backlinks including Paul; (2) posted not less than 1,000 video on various video directories (3) Ezinearticles (with few of the articles on the top of the Most Views Articles - 90 days) + submission to 20 other articles directories (4) submit all my links to RSS directories (5) create toolbars, ebooks etc and submit to software directories (6) submit to Podcast (7) social bookmarkings (8) squidoo, scribd, slideshare, hubpages submission. (9) linkvana.com submission (3 to 5 articles a day) - $147 a month (10) postings to blogger, blogspot, weebly, geocities with backlinks back to my site etc Most of my main keywords are now in 1st to 3rd page of Google and it take me about 6 months to see result. I don't think you will see result in 15 days if you are just using Angela backlinks especially for a competitive niche like weight loss. |

How many competing websites are there for your keywords (on average). I believe I need a feel for what you call "less competition" in order to know if I can even be of help. Really my only advice is to make sure your on-page site optimizations are in place. Backlinking is only part of the SEO formula. Use your targeted keywords as anchor text in your backlinks, internal/external links, title, h1 tag(s), and sprinkled throughout the page. Hope this helps. |

The serp rankings are has in fact quite a number of things at stake, from the age of the domain to the quality of the contents to whether the on-page share of optimization has been done. But these are just the starting points. In order to rank well, what you need is extensive link-building. And yes, you will have to patiently wait for the result to manifest itself. Another thing is that weight loss is a hugely competitive niche, so you'll have to work real hide to break through.

| * Niche Research As well as the number of search results, you will need to identify your competiton in those results. This will include: 1. Finding out how many have the search term in their title using: allintitle:keyword1 keyword2 keyword3 2. Narrowing the search down to pages that have the exact search phrase in the title, as a phrase: allintitle:"keyword1 keyword2 keyword3" That will roughly tell you how many are trying to compete with you. You will also need to consider the strength of your competitiors, using factors such as: site age (as mentioned above), relevant backlinks, on-page SEO, etc. * SEO For the basics on SEO, I suggest you try Google's starter guide: Official Google Webmaster Central Blog: Google's SEO Starter Guide (check out the pdf link) and the Webmaster's guide: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) - Webmasters/Site owners Help Good Luck! |

First of all..patience.15 days is not long enough to see any results. Secondly, you need to understand about on-site optimization and off-site optimization. This includes choosing a good anchor text to promote your site. (preferably your target keywords) |

There are quite a lot of SEO tips here, so I won't go into the part about building backlinks. If you want to rank in such a competitive niche, you need some authority backlinks and getting them from yahoo directories, dmoz is a start. Sometimes, you may find that getting one link from yahoo directories is all you need to give you that authority to rank above your competitors, so definitely, do check it out.

Relax james, you need some patience when you deal with SEs. Keep working and adding backlinks everyday and you'll see the results in time. |
