Default Someone stole the title in my ppc ad? Can I do anything?

I'm pissed off!!!

I've been fighting it out with a competitor for ad space for the last week, and so far I've been winning.

Today I log in and see that after a week of us trying new ads, he decides to copy my ad title exactly as I have it. Whats more is that I've worked very hard to get all the code and content on my site to googles favor, and he has a some run of the mill cpa template that still has instructions of what goes where in the source code lol.

I've also noticed that he has two different sites, same affiliate links for both sites promoting the same products advertising for the same keyword. I don't google will like this.

Is there anything that I can do to get him to stop using my title in his ad?

If you don't have these words trademarked, I don't think there is all that much you can do.

PHP Link Directory Script - a great addition to ANY website and much more than just a directory.
templates for phpLD - phpLD Templates (hundreds!)
Article Directory Script - Video Directory Script

Nope...not much you can do with that.

Even if you do have trademarked terms in the ad that was swiped, it will take you a good bit of time and effort to get Google to do something about it. Unless your dropping six figures a day in ad spend that is.

It does suck though...good luck to you!

You could fight back though...use KeywordSpy or something and determine his keywords and ads...then do what he's done to you.

Also try using some CPV adverts for his url/s. You have an idea of how much traffic he's getting based on your numbers. Is it worth it or not? That's up to you.

You know one thing that really pisses people off? I have a pretty wicked competitor in a auto insurance campaign I have running. He's done pretty much the same thing to me...so after looking at some of his pages...I noticed he's using free templates...so, I copied his landing page, changed out some text and wala...the pissed off emails where flowing in from him.

Then I started to use Position Targeting to really break his stones...he was jumping all over the board testing different positions...So I targeted the 6 position for about 12 days, keep in mind he was monitoring my actions as well. In this campaign I found that the 6 spot is one of the most unprofitable, but he made the assumption based on me holding that position, it was the most profitable.

So I fought with him for that position for about 12 days then ramped up my CPC and took the 3rd spot, which other than 2 has proven itself to be the most profitable position. While he happily still holds #6. Haha...

Eventually he'll start up the competition again, but that's the way it goes.

Sorry for the long rant! Hope that helps!

Nothing can be done in this case.

Nope. Learn from Robert. Grow a spine, stop whining and COMPETE. Give this douche bag a run for his money. He swiped your ad? You swipe his landing page, his email campaign... etc.

It'll only make you a better marketer. Im in the fitness business... do you know how much competition I face? a $hit load. You know what I do about it? I face it head on.
It's a doggy dog world out in this IM business, eat or be eaten.

In the end, it'll only make you better at what you need to do. You know I mean well.

Cheers.
