I want to change my title tags to include one more keyword for my homepage... Is this ok or a bad idea?

I would say don't include any more than three main keywords in the title. The weight of the title becomes less with every keyword you add. Unless you're targeting long tail keywords then put them all in the title. |

This will definitely effect your search engine ranking for that page. Its effectively a new page and it will probably drop out the SERPs.

It can affect your ranking for your current keyword but if you are going to replace it with your new keyword, then definitely you will see some fluctuations in your SERPs.

If you have found more relevant keyword to your niche, then it would be better to replace which one is less important than this new keyword. Try to keep 66-70 characters of a title tag. | |

It will surely effect your SERPs. I say stick with a Title name and stick with it forever. Think of a good one in the first place before anything because it is the most important thing of all.
