How many Backlinks per day??

Hi
I just wanted to know if you build a lot of backlinks to your site in one day.. is it considered spamming??? or does google punish you for this??

I heard some ppl saying Yes and Some saying NO

What is it?

Link spamming is creating 1000's upon 1000's of links within a few hours with most coming from sites with very low authority. It's not something the average person will do, even when using automated tools with some care.

Usually recommended to build not more than 15-20 links/day. If you build a lot in one day - it seems too much for GOOGLE (they want your natural growing - not artificial jump up)!

You can use some machines to submit your links (such as easysubmit.com or resellergo.com).

No i am not talking building 1000 of link for sure... i am doing it manuallly...
but should you build like 30-40 links a day??

Not more than that - by the GOOGLE view, you have to grow gradually!

By the way - as I told you - use semi-automatic tools to submit your links (resellergo or easysubmit) - manual sub will take you all your life to optimize your site!

Nonsense. That's not natural growth, that's lazy growth. This kind of thinking gives people an excuse not to promote their sites. Massive automation of links, and I mean something like 100,000 links from autogenerated link farms in a day, is what gets Google's attention, not that you got 100 social bookmarking and blog comment links in a day from diverse legitimate sites.

You can build as many links per day as you want just be consistent. And high quality, in content relevant pages if possible. If not then authority domain names. Why not try one of Angela's pr PJ's packets here. They will help you.

What if you put up a page and it got picked up by a national newspage or got put on a national morning news program.

Say you found a rock that looked exactly like Jesus. And you were on Good Morning America with your Jesus Rock. And you told everyone that you had pictures of your find at JesusRock.com and then a few hours later you had 100,000 links pointing to your site because turns out people might want to see a rock that looks like Jesus.

Would that be bad? Would you be penalized?

Seriously if you are going about link building manually and ethically you have little to worry about.

If you are scraping and FFA'ing and other crap like that then you deserve to be penalized.

If you are scraping and FFA'ing and other crap like that then you deserve to be penalized.

FFA'ing = Free For All 'ing. All links from all comers. FFA link pages used to be ubiquitous (circa 1998). I didn't think anyone bothered with those anymore, as they are link farms in the purest sense and will get you whacked around for sure.

For what it's worth, I say don't worry about how many backlinks you're getting. If you think long-term, more is always better and having those links be "sticky" is the best of all. In other words, when Google acknowledges a link pointing to your site, you want that link to still be there months and years later. That's when you really start getting juice and moving up the rankings. There are sites I built back in 2002 and 2003 that are still on Page 1 at Google for some competitive keywords, and that's without any new link gathering on my part for years now. But lots of the original links I got still exist. It ain't sexy, but link longevity is where it's at as far as I'm concerned. You gotta learn patience and think long-term.

You must think long term when back linking. IMO, consistency over the long haul will provide long term growth - once you start the campaign, don't let up. It's not so much how many (albeit that's also important) but once you start, stay with it.

Couldn't agree more with that guys.

I remember hiring an SEO guy to create some backlinks and he told me it may take a bit of time but I would see some fantastic results, he was not kidding. Well worth it.

Wholeheartedly agree.

In 1996, I signed up with Mindspring (now Earthlink) and put up a webpage with a long url like w.mindspring/xxxxxxxxxxx/index.html only because I didn't know any better. At that time the only search engine to speak of was Yahoo and it was a human directory. So the only way I could get my site seen was to email other sites and ask for a link. For a year I would write unique personal emails to 10 sites a day hoping for 2 links that day. On top of that I had the slowest modem, and computer. So painful - but I was driven. In the end when Google came around in 1998, I was number 1 for the major search term. Then the zeus bot became hot, and it was always emailing me with a new site that had linked to me, because I was so highly ranked) and wanted to exchange links, even though I didn't - didn't need to at that point.

The point is, I have tried to get my site down from number #1 spot on Google ( for reasons I won't go into here) by changing the title, and description to be really bad SEO and I am still number #1. Even though none of the keywords are in the domain -

Back links are King!

In google old is golden. The older the site and the older the links the better the ranking. It makes that much harder to take a newer site to the top.

Hmmm - partly true. I put up another site in 2007 and had it rank #1 in Google (over Wiki) in about 4 months. (2 million searches in quotes) It intitally started on page 48 google.

But yes, old is good. So think of all those people trying to put up websites in 10 years - too bad for them! hehehe. Now is a great time to get on board.

yes all very true... i guess the key is to build naturally... if you are doing it whitehat and not cheating in any way then it should not be a problem.. Building high PR is good but make sure you dont spam others in the way... as soon your link will be removed for doing that

You know, "whitehat" is all in the eye of the beholder when it comes to backlink building. The very term "building" when it comes to links is surely seen by Google as blackhat, if you think about it. Anything a site owner does to proactively get backlinks is an attempt to game the Google algo, at least as they probably see it. In a perfect Google world, the only links would be ones impressed visitors post to resources they truly think are valuable. Know what I mean?

Since that ain't gonna happen anytime soon for 99.9% of us, we're all wearing grey or black hats when we work on getting links. It's all artificial and an attempt to rank higher purely by beating the competition with more links. Google knows this is what many of us do, of course, so the key is making those artificial links look as natural as possible. That's why you need to vary your anchor text and also link to interior pages now and then, not just to your homepage.

And thats a GOLDMINE of advice there, and what Im all about. Key overlooked aspect of doing these tedious tasks. Being able to not only hit the money page up with solid links - but also your interior pages or other niche sites.

What ya gunna do - post 12 times on one guys blog and try and kreep 12 keyword phrases in as anchor text links? Not likely. There's a better way of course.

Waiting to get "legitimate" and "earned" links is just darn near impossible. I get a few here and there, but they are usually not anchor text links. what motiviation does anyone have to do that for you?

My Experience:

If you get quality back links from high PR authority sites, it doesn't matter:

Get as many as you can!

If you use low PR 0 ~ 2 sites' links, no more than 100 / day or you may hit the red flag of spamming... You still get power from low PR sites, just build it slow.
