Default Hello Warriors Quick question For you SEO Guys out there

As I have stated in many post I have recently changed my blog over to a seo blog. This was to benefit the most from adsense since for 1 click on an adsense link I make around 3.00 a click.

What I am having troubles with is getting my blog to rank higher now that I am targeting just seo and seo related key words. The blog itself at the moment has about 200 or so back links which I am expanding on a daily basis right now.

Also doing a keyword density search for my main page I see that I also have seo, search, engine, optimization all on the main blog page 30 or more times. When I did a simple search for seo the top spot is a wiki page that has these keywords alot more then me. So I moved down to the number 2 spot and did the same search. The second spot only has around 20 or so for seo but their link is seo___.com Which will make them rank higher too.

My main goal is to just get my main blog page on the first page for the keyword seo at some point. Then for my long tailing keywords I would like to also be in atleast the top 3-5 spots. I have been writing a ton of articles linking back to the blog page.

The only one I can find though is the one I posted on hubpages. Which is extreamly hard to get good solid back links with out getting my account banned for over promotion of what they call affiliate links. So I also use an article submiter that allows me to submit to hundreds of article sites with a simple copy and paste method. The articles I submitted this way I can find running on the site but are not listed in google or other search engines.

Any sugestions to get on the front page for the main keyword being seo. I know this is going to be an extremely difficult task with over 350mil in competition and my blog still being relitivly new. I know there has to be a few more trixs out there to acomplish this task. I will be making a few videos which will help down the road. I just do not have the time to be making those at this time. I am trying to publish a new post atleast 1 every 2-3 days which should also help this process.

Thanks everyone for your help in advance. The blog link is is my sig file

Hi Pete,

I'm afraid you might want to rethink your strategy. The word SEO is one of the hardest words to rank for anywhere - forget the millions of numbers that doesn't mean much.

In the search optimisation area you are competing with thousands of SEO experts, firms and consultants - on page optimisation won't get you far in this area - you need many thousands of good quality in bound links as well - check your competitors - most on first page have many tens of thousands of links. Many of these firms have already been doing this for many years as well, they also have lots of staff doing what you're doing.

Sorry to put a downer on your strategy - but to target the decent traffic and money phrases in that area you need some serious resources and big bucks.
There are much easier areas to target with even bigger payouts on adsense - don't try and compete with SEO firms.

Neil

Pete,

That's a better tactic, but honestly I still think you'd be better switching areas - like mrrelics suggests.

Whenever you target an SEO phrase - forget about getting a quick advantage with on page optimisation like you can in other areas, everyone knows all this stuff, you are competing with people who have tweaked, analysed every aspect of their page and been building links for years. They have typed every phrase and keyword into a myriad of keyword analysing programs and been building links for years.

I have a couple of web sites that are over 10 years old and have ranked some SEO phrases - they took lots of work - each step up the ladder was a huge battle and frankly it was not worth the effort unless you're looking at building an off line business. For instance if you haven't got listed in Yahoo Directory under SEO you're going to struggle to break into the top pages - and that costs over £200 a year.

Why not pick an area where a knowledge of keywords and optimisation is a huge advantage - rather than a minimum requirement.

But good luck on what you decide

Cheers
Neil

So what you are saying is I should focus more on the adsense aspect and the pay per click vs just trying to target seo based keywords.

I would say I tend to agree with the guys.

SEO in it's nature is hardcore - as if you think about it - someone looking for an SEO service, will go with people who can rank themselves.

Thats not to say "not bother" completely. You will have to be prepared to spend time and money and in fairness if you are alone, you will fail to make a dent.

There is basically no tactic left "unknown". I don't know them all, and never will, but between us we do

What might make it "easier" for you is to concentrate of getting traffic rather than rankings. So get yourself known out there. Leach off other higher traffic places by making guest posts on blogs etc.

Good luck!

It depends on where you're aiming for - if you're going to try and sell SEO services it obviously makes sense to target SEO phrases.

But if your primary aim is adsense income there are thousands of areas that pay just as much if not more, and require much, much less work.
