Default Yahoo search help

Hello fellow warriors!

Now I know that yahoo is suppose to be the easier search engine to get ranked on. How ever when I do a search to see if my site has been indexed from one of my search saturation tools. It never shows any of my pages indexed in yahoo but I do have a few hundred in google.

My question is does yahoo use a different sitemap set up to be listed. I have submitted my sites there manually through yahoo small business or what ever it is called over there. What I need to know is did I miss something along the way of getting indexed in yahoo.

I have been indexed in google for a few months now and I really was not worried about getting indexed in yahoo from the start I was more concerned with google. When I go to the yahoo panel It shows me that my site is indexed there but it is only about 20 pages but my search saturation tools do not show any yahoo indexed pages.

Any help thanks

Yahoo is much more content driven while google is more backlink driven in terms of rankings.

Make sure you submit your site and sitemap to yahoo for indexing.

It's funny cause google is much easier to get ranking for than yahoo on a consistent basis.

Hi and thank you da doc

Where is it that you submit the sitemap to google. Cause from where I added my site to there listing it does not have a spot to tell it what site map to use. Unless i add in the direct link to my sitemap

You need to go under webmaster tools in google. you should verify your site. You can do that by placing a meta tag or uploading a file. the latter is easier. Then once the site is verified you can designate the exact location of the sitemap. Make sure you have at least one decent link to the site and your robots.txt file allows googlebot to crawl. Within 1-2 days the sitemap should be read and you will see some traffic from googlebot. At least that is how it has worked with my sites in the past.
