Hi anuj291, AFAIK the URL, does not make any difference in SEO terms, however for backlinks its best to keep with a standard URL, e.g. http://www.abcd, and re-direct from other URL forms. Hope this helps. |

Its better to go with the http://www.abcd url for generating backlinks. But you should also keep in mind that all the 3 url's mentioned will be treated as different sites by Google, so be careful while generating links. Its better to set a 301 redirect from the other url's to the http://www.abcd one for better seo results.

In application, I don't find any difference between the three forms. I have tried with yahoo.com, I get the same result in all the cases. However for backlinks I am using the standard URL forms. |

Ok, ill just share what i learnt " If SEO matters to you, then go for http//www.example.com because other people who link to you are likely to use that format. When I built my first two sites I thought I was being cute and trendy by dropping the www, but when I learnt SEO, I realised the mistake and much later I learnt how to make a .htaccess file (used by most websites that use an Apache server) and place it in the root directory." So use .htaccess and ask ur Control pannel and they will send you the rewrite code, this will redirect your sites to what you want |
