I'm back selling Clickbank, it's a single item that has similar items sold in retail stores, it's a useful product.

I built the sales page yesterday & did some on-page optimizing (mostly internal links for now), the page is very simple & explains exactly what's included with the CB item I'm promoting. There's absolutely no hype on my sales page. I have no article, no review, just a single paragraph of detailed info. on what's included when they purchase the product I'm promoting (think Walmart.com product description).

I made two sales today from that one page, no big deal. I narrowed the keyword down that one buyer used on Google from looking at my Google referral traffic GEO location & comparing that to the state in the US where the Clickbank purchase was made. I'm ranked #8 in Google SERPs for this buyers keyword.

Why do I think I made the sale at position #8 in Google SERPs?

I'm the only one on the first page of Google with the word buy in my SERP title & SERP description, everyone else is just hyping up the SERPs but they never mention the word buy.

What's my point here?

If you have something to sell, say it, don't make the traffic wonder If your selling something & tell them straight up what's included in the product your selling (product details).

So, now I need to get my page bumped up to #1 in Google SERPs, that's going to include additional internal pages targeting the same product & re-arranging some other internal links to put more focus on this product. I won't mess with any external links for now since this site is well established, just use the authority from old pages. If the internal links don't put me at #1 in a week or so I'll consider adding more external links to my already established pages (buffer).

BTW, I do expect a lot more sales in the near future.

You will definitely get target traffic that way which is a good thing but aren't you also potentially turning off others who may not have been interested in making a purchase but with a nice sales letter can be swayed? The word "buy" might turn them off, no?

Does that turn off amazon.com buyers? People look for products to buy,
not a long winded sales page. Amazon has revolutionized the one click
      shopping.

That's the key. You want to rank for people who are wanting to actually
      buy the product. Not looky-loos.

I have an adsense site that gets almost 100% CTR because it attracts
buyers, and advertisers who are selling.

Nope, not interested in hype. This is a real product just like you can buy in an offline retail store. IMO, less is more, state the facts, the buyer can take it or leave it.

I also just made another sale from the same page, that's 3 sales on a new web page that's right at 24 hours old. Really there's not much optimization done at all. I'm leaving everything on the page just like it is for now, it's converting better than I expected with very little traffic. I'll work on increasing traffic.

I went ahead & built some links from a few other domains I own (well established link profiles), currently sitting at #1 for my target keyword & #6 for a 2nd similar keyword (need to focus more on the 2nd main keyword).

Next step, build out a category of internal pages focused on this product & aim for at least double SERP listings per ranked keyword. I'll aim for a self hosted video thumbnail image for the 2nd ranked pages (same domain) per main keywords, then use the additional category supporting pages for longtail keywords & funnel that traffic back to my sales page.

    More keyword research...
