Anyone Need Help with PPC?

Let me know the real good meaning of PPC. I obviously know about it but i want to know it deeply and this will help some newbies too and also how you target it and everything related to PPC?

Jason, if you have a campaign, export the campaign and send it to me and I can help you. If you dont want to do that, or you need help setting up a campaign. Here is what I would do:

Take the landing page you are targetting over to the google keyword tool, to see what keywords google thinks your site is about.

Once you know use those keywords to plug back into the tool and see what else you can come up with, I love the second part of the list that shows other related searches. Get your list between 50-100 different keywords long.

Take those keywords and set up a campaign, phrase match, 2 ads each keyword. 1 keyword per ad group.

Now watch and tweak. I would do at least $10 a day in budget. Now depending on the niche you might need to increase that, do more creative keyword research, or
use fewer keywords. Really depends on the CPC you are trying for.

You want to get a good CTR to start with, then start tweaking from there. Do NOT choose keywords that are too basic or broad, narrow it down to get better results.

I obviously cant teach everything there is to know about PPC in this post, but, this should get you started without losing your shirt.

okay I did not actually started with PPC. But I heard that LPGen would be good for increasing quality score as it will put the required keywords on the landing page. Is it worth the investment ?

I dont use LPGen because I was told that Google was catching on to this sort of thing (inputting the keyword with script). So no, I wouldn't do the investment. I do websites based on keyword themes, but that is only after I do enough testing to know what keywords convert.

I think I found out how to do export my campaign, the results I brought up indicate that it should be done from the Report center section of Google ad words right? and I should do placement/keyword report?

you can either do that, or you can download adwords editor and export from there. the latter works best as it will be easier to import after i help you fix it.

I will take you up on your offer because I set up a campaign on the 12th for my niche. I decided to ask a question about my campaign on the 16th because my ads weren't showing. Someone in support got back to me and it turned out one word had all caps. So, I corrected that and resubmitted it. I don't know why it takes so long to get approved. I asked if it had been disapproved but got back a message to correct the one word with caps. So, don't really know if you can shine any light on how long it takes for them to approve and start my ads? Any insight will be helpful. I am disappointed with how long it's taking.

On the search network you should have yoru ads approved almost immediately. If you want to send me a copy of the campaign, by first getting adwords editor, then exporting the campaign and attaching it to an email to my address in this thread, I can tell you what I think.

Something must be wrong with the site, the ads, or the keywords, or even the niche. Hit me on email or im to tell me more specifics.

Before I build a landing page I usually send them direct first, with just an ad. I use Google Keyword tool and freekeywords.wordtracker.com for me it isnt so much about the number of searches. i try to find a balance between words that are too broad and words that are too specific. Too broad and you get way more clicks than conversions and too specific, too little clicks, but a higher percent of conversion.

Once i know the product converts i check to see what my competitors are doing (review or presell) and then I decide what I think will be best with my keywords.

Does that cover it? Oh, and dont bid on broad keywords for a match type, keep it to phrase and exact.

I was doing very well with Niche Marketing until recently I tried to get into PPC marketing. I ran my first campaign, targeted a keyword with VERY high search count and competition ('fat loss'). Put the max CPC at $0.40, daily budget at $10. First day, I got a sale promoting Fatloss4idiots, $26.30 in my CB. Good.

Next day, I tried to scale the thing up, and put the daily budget at $50, got 114 clicks, no sales. BTW, I was using direct linking and no landing page. Any suggestions?

My suggestion would be go back down to the $10 a day, and leave it for a week. You need more data than 1 day to scale a campaign. After the week figure out where you got the sales, what keywords, what time, what days, then you can start to tweak.

I wanted to ask this: You suggested I should track which keywords drove sales, my question is How? I'm quite new to PPC so not sure if this is a dumb question.

For starters I would give each keyword its own subid, I believe, if you go to my ppcmom site you will see a link to a video that shows you how to set up the campaign very easily and add subids in a spreadsheet. If you dont see the link, lmk, and I will find it for you.

I'd like to know, with direct linking, do I have to have a website/landing page or can I directly link an Adwords advertisement straight to the vendors page?
Is PPC still a viable way to make money?
Are there any essential skills I should have to be sucessful(HTML, etc.) or can anyone do it by learning online?
Is there any essential software I should have?

Randy, hi, I hope I can help. Yes you can direct link. I usually do to start with to test. Ppc is still viable, most definitely. You don't really need any skills, you can outsource everything, you just have to know what you need to outsource. You can learn everything online, and I can recommend some great books if you like.

Azim, I wish it were that easy. The QS is not good at all. I would think you need to get more keywords on your landing page. Take the link to the landing page over to Googles Keyword Tool and see what they think the site is about. Then pack your landing site with those keywords.

Is there any good way to estimate the cost of the keyword that I want to bid on? I found that Google Keyword tools isn't that accurate...in fact, sometime, it is way way off from the estimation cost.

and for a starter, what is the recommended ads spot? I know getting on No.1 spot is kinda ridiculous for a limited budget people.

and for ads writing, is there any tips or strategy to write a so-called killer ads?

Did you try the google traffic estimator? Usually I put the campaign together and throw 50 cents on every word, then after a few days i adjust. For starters, I would try for the top 3 spots.

Include numbers in the ad, and try to have a great headline, either the keyword or numbers in the headline. Make sure you pack it with benefits.

So far it is taking a week for my ads to become active[for search only].Could it be that i am new to google?[3 ads so far].Just sighned up 3 weeks ago.

I started it this way just to test my ketwords and to test this adwords out.
I have at least 12 keywords from the g tool.First place for all words.[by price so far].

Is it possible to break even or profit a little if doing things right in the beginning? Lots of people would tell you to track, track, track, but they never show, show, show you how. So what ppc tracking tool can i use that can show me where my money is coming from and where I'm losing money so i'll know where to add more and what to eliminate. When tracking what are the most important things to look at to ensure a good ROI?

It's a highly respected merchant, my ad copy has the word "Buy Product Name Here" but I'm finding that a lot of those clicks Im getting are very suspicous, as the keywords I use are now narrowed down to almost no negtaives, they only appear on Googles search page, not search partners, yet still a very low conversion rate.

It spells out click fraud, but I'm not getting any credits for them.

for tracking I use a different subid for each keyword and I do that in spreadsheet, after that though I use either ppc coach tracker or prosper 202. today though i bought ppc bully for 9.97 and got a ton of bonuses and one of them is 6 free months pro tracking through tracking202.

Dear Mary,

Although I'm kicking more and more *ss on Microsoft Adcenter with the techniques I learned (I started a week ago and my first "real" ad group has a CTR of 14.29 WITHOUT any tweeking!)..Google is posing a bit of a problem. I tried to expand to Google yesterday and, as a test, launch only a very, very tight ad group that basically contains a keyword, the plural version of that keywords, and misspelled versions..which should give me a pretty good CTR

But here's the deal: my ads aren't shown because my Quality Score is a dramatic 1/10 according to Google :S which means that even when I want impressions, I'll need to start paying wayyyy more..or improve my QS. Can you please help me with some fault finding?

Because I've included the keyword of my campaign in both the ad title AND the display url, which makes me believe that I should look for QS optimization in my website itself. Can you give me a top 5 or so list of the best things to do to improve my Quality Score?

Bakai, you can still direct link on the content network, why not, give it a shot. The banners I would think would let you, on the content network. I have tried those with direct linking and havent had any problems myself.

Dennis, you have to improve the QS for that campaign, try putting the keyword in the ad, url, landing page, etc.. if that doesn't work (though it should) are you bidding on something completely unrelated? The landing page needs to be very related and have some LSI keywords as well. Some niches will automatically be low QS based on the history of the keyword with Google. (I can have a look if you would like though).

About landing page, any tool out there that can be used to create a landing page by utilizing a new page of an existing WP blog? I am not referring to affiliate theme type.
A tool that will, in this case, create landing page (static html or Review page style) within an existing blog.

I just bidding a new keyword and I learned that my new Keyword is rated with 4/10 and it stated the relevance is poor.

What should I do now? Delete the keyword and find a new keyword that are more relevant to my landing page or create a new landing page for that keyword?
