Heathcliff, as long as the ad text pertains to each and every keyword, yes you can use the same ad. I don't, but I also don't use thousands of keywords either, unless I am scaling a campaign, but certainly not to start. As for the reviews. I have been looking into some peoples campaigns for them and I am find certains niches or keywords in the ad text, can often trigger a review from Google. They do have a chat feature so you can get support, have you used it? If you want me to check your account I can tell you what I think, but you could just as easily tell me the niche on pm and I can help you there as well. Doc_web my email is marywgreen@gmail.com feel free to send me the campaign there. Johagulo, the best campaign I think, is one that has 100% roi or more. What are you really asking though? I like campaigns that are set up for specific sites, when I have control over the thank you page, the copy on the vendors site, etc. |

Hi Mary, I have always been told to create Multiple LPs for different keywords in order to get a higher QS and conversion rate. I've never actually tried this and i'm not exactly sure how to do this. I also have no idea how to split test LPs. Do I need to purchase different domain names for this or can I just create subdomains? Also, would you recomend doing this for every keyword or just the high traffic ones? Thanks, Shane |

I would recommend doing it for groups of keywords, you dont need a different landing page for dog training, dog training books, and dog training classes, when you can just make sure 1 page has all of them on it. As for split testing, all you need is different pages on the main domain, no need for subs or a new domain altogether. Basically, you have a landing page at domain.com/index.html copy that, and put it into domain.com/index2.html and then change the content to have the new keywords in it.

you can track with direct linking, no problem, use a subid, as for qs depends on your ctr and how related the site to what you are bidding with. I love polls i say go for it. I really like TrafficVance for cpv ads. But I have also used Media Traffic as well. |

Starting out on a limited budget. What is the lowest daily budget to hit to see some results? 25.00 a day? I heard run first in other countries for adwords then jump back to USA to throttle down CPC. I can't afford some crazy 1.00 per click right now. Just wondering what people do in the beginning when starting out PPC. I am doing article marketing it is just a slower process. Any help for a newb wanting to leave his fulltime job in the near future. |

Hi Shane, I would start with as little as $5 a day and just bid what you can. As long as you dont choose a super competitive niche you should be able to get cheaper clicks than $1 each. As for articles marketing I have done that too. It is a slow process but I still get sales from the 1st site I ever set up. |

The best results I had in terms of return on investment (not volume), was spending only $69 in adspend to return just over $1000 in commissions during a single month with a single product! Around $2.30 a day for budget. I targeted USA and other main countries straight off the bat. It can be done, as long as you find the right product and strategy. Nick

One more thing in adwords I tried one day to do a 100.00 a day and lost 100.00 and made $30 now I can't find a place to change the total amount they will charge per day. Or right now they will bill me every $200.00 which is kind of scary for me right now lol. Can you set amount charged after raising a daily budget like that?

It was adspend for the month I believe. And yes it can happen. You can change the settings usually in the campaign settings, if you cant get it, im me at ticklebug82 on aim or yahoo im usually invisible and give me your customer id and i will fix it up for you quick. Id hate to see you lose more money than you need to.

Mary, First off, "THANK YOU" for this thread. Here's my issues 1) My content network ads aren't getting impressions and clicks even after being up for 3 weeks. My keywords are tight, for example weight training exercises weight training techniques weight training for women So you can see the root kw is "weight training". I've recently (5 minutes ago), changed my CPC from 0.10 to 0.02 but increase my daily campaign spend from $5 to $20 to see if it was a bidding price issue. 2) In search I go with one keyword per adgroup. So if my ad is for a chest training product I get "chest training" (keyword given to me by googles site search keyword tool). All keywords at the beginning are exact match. Not getting much clicks or impressions. My copywriting skills are good so I know it's not the ad copy. Should I go all keywords borad match? I don't want to waste money though? |

For weight training, I think your cpc might be too low. I would start at atleast 30 cents a click. What is your cpc for the search network? I assume you have both the content and search in different campaigns, correct? If not be sure to split them up. As for search I can't training costing less than $1 cpc you might need to turn it up.

Mary, I am new to PPC, but have some questions for you. All of the longtail keywords I want to use all say ".05 bid". Is this normal or am I missing something because it almost seems to good to be true. I mean some of the keywords I have found have good traffic as well. I mean will it cost me more than .05 a click? Just a little confused. |

Hi PPC Mom I've tried a number of PPC campaigns.(Google Clickbank)no success. So I must still be a newbie. If your goal was to make $100/day... can you give a brief A B C approach from your knowledgeable viewpoint? Best kind of products etc. |

Hi PPC Mom, Could you please recomend a good conversion tracking tool? I've tried Statsjunky, Prosper 202, and Tracking 202 but can't seem to get any of them to work properly. StatsJunky isn't too responsive on the support questions... Tracking 202 uses a lot of redirects that I feel surfers wouldn't be patient enough for and that Google might not like... Prosper 202 seems like an arduous setup, but I am going to tackle it next. I'm looking for something Ican use for both Direct Links and landing pages. Thanks! |

We have recently changed the support service we were using, we found that there was an issue with emails being both received and sent by us and our customers. This is now no longer an issue as we have switched support systems.

The technique i use is to create 1 adgroup per keyword - do only exact and phrase match. I also tag my keyword at the end of my destination URL eg: Destination Url: http:// fatloss.info?{keyword:fatloss} This way you can track DZ

I have one tip - if your keywords are not performing well at conversions, change the match type from Broad match to phrase match or exact match.

I have a question - if you add the keyword 'gum tape machine' to a ad group, does it automatically match a search query "gum tape machines", to avoid having to enter two keywords i.e, gum tape machine and gum tape machines, should I use [gum tape machine] or "gum tape machine"?

I am curious about quality score. I have an account that I havnt used since January and I loaded an ad group today with a link to my blog. I have the keyword in the ad, and the title of the blog page is also using the keyword and i have tagged the page with the same keywords. 5 mins after loading campaign into google i noticed i only have quality score of 5 . I dont understand how i can be any more relevant?

In a content campaign do you recommend: 1) One ad group with many keywords (25 or so) broad match 2) One ad group with one keyword broad match. I've been building my campaigns with 25 but I just read Perry Marshall's guide and he says only one. ?? |

| 4% is a good CTR, but seriously there is no reason why you shouldn't consistently get 10% and above with highly relevant ads, keywords and landing pages.

Agree! 4% is already a good number for search! But you have to have a good QS to maintain it profitable. Good luck!

As I'm still very new to PPC I don't have too many stories to tell.. but my first and only experience with Google Adwords so far... I put $80 (prepaid) on my account. Found a few clickbank offers, setup my keywords (I must admit - didn't do proper keyword research. I soon realised my keywords were not getting enough traffic or my CPC bid wasn't high enough. Nothing was happening and I wasn't getting any clicks at all. So I decided to take the opposite approach. I picked shorter keywords with much higher search volumes... and I'm sure my $80 was gone in 1/2 hour lol At the end of the day I made 2 sales and made around $20. I was both disheartened that I had lost money, yet excited that I made a couple of sales. Before I put more money money on my account I think I'll be wanting to learn how to correctly do keyword research. My question is... should I be spending money on keyword research software, or are there enough free tools out there? |

Joel The tools within google itself are extremely valuable. First of all you have the keyword tool, then google insights which give you rising and popular searches and if you use google chrome just type in your main keyword in the search bar and it will give you a list of keywords that people are typing in and searching for. this is also a great method for finding negative keywords. Hi Mary, Thanks for your generous help with everyone here with PPC. In your original post you stated the following: "Buying a domain for redirecting to the vendor page: As long as you use the correct script you can do this. I have even used sub domains for this." I don't understand this process. Can you please explain how the redirect works and why Google would not see this as a duplicate landing page for their one page serving rule? Thanks, Dianne |

Thanks for the awesome thread. Learning a lot. I have a few questions 1) How many keywords do you suggest when you start a search campagin on google? The guys in PPC class room say to go to with 1 exact match. What do you think? 2) What have you found to be the best way to get more impressions with the same budget? Just get a better quality score and keep tweaking your landing page. Is it as easy as bidding higher per click? Also, with the content network, what have you found to be the best way to get more impression with the same budget? Thanks |

Hi Mary, You sound like an angel. I am a real newbie who is working my way through XSitePro for a first site to be a blog using Wordpress. I desperately! need some coaching for which I am willing to pay what I can. I want to do this myself although I know there are many ccompetent Warriors out there who could do it for me. Once I get going, I definitely will have someone with more technical sophistication than I possess to maintain my "vast kingdom of sites" .LOL Pretend I'm your Grandmother who left a professional job to jump with both feet into this wonderful world of IM. [I] have a lot of useful information to share once I get going. Any ideas? Dr. Ruth (yes, really!) |

First of all, thanks for a great post. I have 1 question on the above statement. How do you select a keyword for the content network? I thought you don't have that option with the content network! I'm anything but a PPC guy. I have only 1 adgroup running That's an experiment. I've set the budget to $30/day. Some days I break even, some days I make a few extra bucks. It's on the content network. The CTR is like 0.2%, better than the 0.05%. But then I expect it to be better because it's not automatic placement. It's on a specific domain name. I figured if I can clean up the campaign and optimize a little bit, my position will increase with less CPC.The 'mention the benefit' in the ad part you mentioned is also something I'm not doing. That should also probably help increase my CTR. One last question Mary. I have many ads in this campaign that I have paused for various reasons. Should I delete and clean it up? Will that have an effect on the cpc? Thanks a bunch again! Chucky

Hi Mary, I have never tried my hand with PPC because of the obvious. I know nothing of it. I've read enough to understand that it requires in depth due diligence and keyword research to pull off a successful campaign. I intend to use PPC for CPA offers and I have stumbled onto different softwares/ prgrams that aid in conducting the market research needed to put together a campaign. So far, I've been looking at ispionage and ppcbully. Can you recommend similar programs? Also, I have seen that you've recommended PPC Coach for learning. Is the program still up-to-date? Thanks in advance. |
