There are a number of ways to see which keywords do work and which don't. Set up a Google Analytics account and start tracking. After you know which keywords convert the best, then you have great starting point. Check out Spyfu, you might find out more... | |

RG0205, I have always found that the best way to do the research is by using the free google keyword tool, even when I had used the paid tools with all their past results and such it wasn't exactly helpful. I like to set up my campaigns with the best ad copy I can and continue to tweak as I get better results. What other people did and such doesnt always apply because they have their landing page, their budget, their ad copy, and may or may not have tracking set up. I would suggest using tracking, don't even both starting with out tracking. As for PPC Coach I would still recommend them if you want to use their strategies, although I like some of their strategies, and the way it is set up. I think the most important thing to do is to get a book about PPC, starting playing with it, and keep reading to educate yourself. Agraj, I would probably not recommend those keywords, they are too short and can pertain to too many other niches, leading to a low QS and CTR. I would do some deeper keywords or long tail keywords if you want to call them that. Webtrix, umm... |

You do choose keywords for the content network, the keywords are the kinds of sites you want to be posted on. For instance if you want to reach out to Lady Gaga fans you would bid on Lady Gaga as a keyword because you want would to be on pages that feature information about her. I do one keyword per adgroup because that is easiest for me for tracking and allows me to have a specific ad for each keyword. As for the ads and cleaning them up, if they aren't active, I would leave them as is. That way you always know what you had and what worked or what didn't. I start new ads or copy old ones to make changes too. I don't like to delete anything that way, just turn it off. |

Hi Mary, Thank you so much for the feedback. I was sort of thinking of using PPC to promote CPA offers. In your opinion, would you say that the LPs provided by the ad networks are sufficient to achieve a high CTR and lead capture? Or is it better/ typical practice to promote the offers with your own constructed LPs? Also, what's a practical/ realistic ROI to aim for? Some of what I am reading here on the WF is incredible. Some guys claim to make an ROI of 1000% or more. ![]() I am considering PPC Coach. At the moment, what I don't really have is the adequate amount of time to delve into it but I am contemplating. I am not currently running any PPC campaigns nor do I intend to without proper education as you suggested. ![]() Quote:

rg0205, The landing pages from the offers are usually pretty nice, however if you can put one of your own together I like that better because you can tweak things and change it up, test different text, formats, etc. As for the ROI I would say 100%, but of course at the beginning you will most likely lose money first as you are bidding on all sorts of terms and don't know which will convert. You decide the least % you will take as a profit and obviously keep working on increasing it. PPC Coach is great, but like I said he has strategies that he teaches and you might want to get started with a general book on it first that you can read and learn more about before delving into strategies. I don't have one that I have finished just yet. Currently I am writing a guide on keywords, I will look around and if you want to email me in a few days at mary@mary-green.com I can send you a recommendation. Good Luck! |

Is it still viable for affiliates to use GCN for CPA offers after all the slaps? Can we still do direct linking to game/dating/lead generation offers at GCN?

I don't normally do a lot of direct linking Nigel, but I believe you can, just not feasible for me. I recommend your own landing pages, on sites that are actual sites not just pages to make affiliate money. Google wants searchers to have the best search experience possible, all pages should increase their experience, help them find what they are looking for.

Hi Mary, Thanks for the advice. I wasn't able to respond right away since I've been tied up with work and contemplating my higher education. I haven't gone further into PPC since my last post but I will look into it further given time. I have also added you onto my friends' list to keep updated on this thread and your future posts, as well. Thanks a lot for the email address, too. I will keep you posted on my activities should I choose to venture into PPC. Thanks again. ![]() Quote:

I forgot to ask though, is $100 USD per day a good enough budget for PPC for a profitable ad campaign?

Hi Guys, I'm struggling with a low adwords quality score on some adverts but it doesn't seem to make any sense? 1) New campaign and adgroup 2) Single keyword in adgroup with exact phase and exact match 3) Keywords in domain name 4) Keywords in adword text 5) Optimised landing page for that keyword 5.1) Keywords in title 5.2) Keywords in H1 5.3) Keywords 4-5% density in text 5.4) Links with text set to keywords Yet I'm still getting a 4/10 quality score Yet on some google suggested keyword which my site isn't optimised for I'm getting 7/10 quality score. Any ideas? |

The two previous post are placed by apparent spambots. Can we get a moderator to delete those accounts.

Just starting out so this may be obvious to others; When creating a url for the destination page of a price comparison site with a 5,000 keyword campaign I am generating a url for for every adgroup but not for every keyword, should I do it for both? |

My plan 9 targeted keywords from 1000 to 9000 monthly searches and low CPC (not generic keywords) landing page with link to CB offer and an optin box with free goodie the 9 keywords on 1 adgroup with $10 dlls daily budget sub-domain with second keyword included , exemple: Keyword2.MainKeyword.com Keyword3.MainKeyword.com Keyword4.MainKeyword.com Keyword5.MainKeyword.com etc... 1 landing page for each sub-domain all redirected to my CB offer each landing page optimaized for each keyword for better QS and split test with 2 ads first Any recommendation? |

I would do a destination url for each keyword, or set up analytics.

Marketing usually requires a lot of experience. You can not claim to be an expert when you start learning. PPC advertising is necessary for all the marketing skills and usually a thorough understanding of PPC strategies and tactics.

Doing PPC is total wast of money, PPC will bring you traffic but mainly 90% of those will be junk traffic, so do some other SEO for your site
