Default How Many Characters Should Your Title Be?

I know that Google only shows up to 68 characters of your title and the other search engines might show a little bit more like 70 characters or so not sure.

But my question is how many characters should your titles be for EZA knowing that Google only shows up to 68 characters? I mean you wouldn't want your EZA titles to be cut off by ... right? Does it matter? What are your thoughts?

I don't want the title or description to be cut off. I limit my title to 65 characters. Does it matter? Not aware of any research into this. But if words are cut off, even by a few characters, the message I want to send is lost. So to me, it matters.

I think the limit, as you say is 70 but that Google will cut off from the last space character if the 70th character is not a space, should the title be longer than 70. So if your title is 70 or longer and the 70th character is anything but a space, it cuts off from the previous space, which would typically be the 65th to 69th character, and add a few periods. The same for the description tag which I think is something like 165 characters.

The other major search engines use more or less the same number of characters. I go with the lowest common denominator so I use 65 and 150 character limits. You also don't have to use all of the available space. Sometimes a shorter message is better.

I too limit my title tags to around 65. Treat it like sales copy and provide a short succinct heading that leaves readers wanting more. Don't waffle, get to the point and use relevant buzz words. That why each title tag on your site should be unique

For SEO purpose title should be of 4-5 words maximum.
But if you want to increase CTR then title can be bigger and appealing like "The Real Secret to Quickly ______________.
For ezinearticles the title like above will work best.
