Default Wordtracker says 750 searches, Google says 18000. Huh??

I know there can be some discrepancies between WT and Google external tool, but this one is wayyyy out there.

WT says 750 searches per month (26 per day) and Google ext. tool says 18000 per month, exact phrase.

Where else can I go to get a third opinion?

It does make more sense that it would be the 18000. The niche gets a lot of searches.

The .com .net and .org are all available for this long tail. Would like to know the real search numbers before plunking out the money.

Ideas??

Hi Evita,

Google's AdWords Keyword Tool reports actual data, while WordTracker estimates their numbers based on a small data sample of approximately 0.63%. It's inevitable that WordTracker's estimates will be off from time to time, especially on lower volume keywords.

Its no wonder I have this problem too when trying to find my keywords for some competitive niches too.

Thanks

word tracker comprises of more than one search index, and takes an average of those it uses data from.
