I'm currently sitting on page three (position 27) in Google for a single word search term that gets almost a million searches+ a month (its one of the biggest genres in music). There are a total of 7.44 million search results for this keyword (with quotes, but since its a single word keyword, quotes don't matter anyway). Now I've gotten to this point primarily because I own the keyword.org domain. I have just about half a dozen links pointing to the domain, and haven't promoted it at all yet. My question is: what can I do to push it up the rankings, say even landing on page 1? I'm pretty sure a page 1 ranking can deliver over 100,000 visitors each month. I have the main keyword .org (a 12 year old domain), so that's a major plus. I've got some nice content in the pipeline and a pretty good design. Where would you recommend I go for backlinks? Social bookmarks? Squidoo? |

pretty simple, more back links from RELATED sources... sure ezines, and what have you are ok, but they dont hold that much weight compared to matching / related sites... your best bet is to start your own network of websites on different hosting companies, set up about 50-100 of them and you should be sorted. I wouldn't be concerned of the cost if you are sure that's how many visitors the search engine gets... but take in mind that you'll only get around 10% of those visitors... |
