What is the guaranteed way to increase PR?

I've been researching on ways to increase PR ,so far blog commenting , blog review, forum posting, article submission are the ones that I think i can do.
But what is really, a guaranteed technique to increase PR?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

There is no real guaranteed technique.

A few sure fire things might be

1. A dmoz listing
2. a Yahoo listing
3. a major news outlet picking your site up

Here's a PR shortcut.. if you can get just two pages of PR 5 (just as an example) to link to you, your page will get a PR of 3 or 4.

If you can get two pages of PR 7 to link to yours, you will get a PR of 5 or 6, and so on.

That's at least one fool-proof way to increase PR for you.

But honestly PR isn't all it's cracked up to be, it's mostly just hype.. there's so many other areas that will benefit your business much more than spending time (and money) trying to increase PR.

It's all about high quality targeted backlinks.. get as many as you can..

I agree, PR doesn't mean much. I've had sites that were PR 3 that received 10 times more traffic than a PR 7 site I had. Forget about PR and focus on your ranks in the search engines, that's what really counts.

Agreed, and (I know this is almost too obvious) getting a good rank for keywords that people are actually searching for is not something you should ignore.

Don't mean to pick on you, but I find this so typical. I checked
you signature link as you suggest Spin Distribute - Article Distributor - Publish hundreds of unique articles to 700+ websites!
and it shows PR=0 and alexa ranking to match.

So isn't your service working for you?

thanks. i am currently reading an article, about the importance of a good keyword. and I am learning, the role of a good keyword in PR success.

If you hit a popular story on digg back before the frames it used to be a guaranteed way to get a PR2-3, but I'm not sure if that still works today with the frames or not?

Edit: I see frames seem to be gone now, so maybe that's a guaranteed way still

Hey Ray,

I don't want to get into a bickering fight over anything, but I just want to say it is so typical seeing people beat up on people in forums... the same guys own Your Chords - Guitar Chords and Tabs Archive which has a PR rank as well as Alexa traffic to match...

As well as their connected web firm, which also has a PR rank...

It could possibly be that there Spin Distribute - Article Distributor - Publish hundreds of unique articles to 700+ websites! site was registered in January, and because it is a service and not much an information hub the PR will probably be low...

Also you can see they are affiliated with earn-on.net, and some other websites which have PR and alexa to match

I'm not saying that they are right or their service works, but if you are going to publicly make a case on them give it all...

One link from a PR5 blog post to my blog post gave my post PR2. It was the only link on the Internet to my post. This has been the most clear example I have run into.

Nobody outside of Google knows the exact formula for calculating page rank. Getting high PR backlinks will certainly help though. Links from your own site to others also diminishes your page rank, so if high PR is what you are after you want to limit that. It is a delicate balancing act, especially if you want your site to look natural in Google's eyes.

And, you don't always need a higher PR than your competition to beat it. But since there is so much misinformation about SEO, I guess the advice I gave above should be anyone's starting point.

Try to be different/remarkable with your website. Don't copy the exact same design everyone's using. Do what others are doing, but differently.

Now there might be techniques that 50% of SEO Gurus won't talk about, and the other 50% don't even know about. But it all doesn't matter unless you have good content.

Once you have it, backlinks will follow. I've got backlinks from corners I never thought, and was never predicted in any SEO stuff I came across. It's the time when authority sites give you links within content, or even a blog post exclusively mentioning your content.

Back links from pages with high Pr are the best but even low Pr back links will increase your page rank. One thing you should make sure to do is link to the right keyword text in your BIO Box of the articles you submit. Make sure your keyword text in your BIO Box does not have more than 50,000 competing pages in Google for that keyword or keywords. Make sure that your keyword text in your Bio Box links back to an article on your site that has the a title that is the same as your keyword link in your Bio Box.
Copy the link location of that article that has the same words in the title as the words in your keyword link in Your Bio Box. That's the link you use. Never just put a URL in your Bio Box. Always use a keyword link of 50,000 or less competing pages. Write an article everyday using these rules and your page rank will climb higher every day.
