Keyword ranking dropped from Google

Hi,

I am new to this forum and I really need some help. I started a site about a year ago and with total of about 80 pages, I managed to rank the keywords pretty well at Google, with some at the first page after about 5 months. It seemed like healthy site but overnight, all my keywords on google were gone. I am still ranking alright in yahoo and bing, but I am just not sure what really happened to google...or rather, what happened to my site with google.

I am also not an expert technically, but just wrote relevant stuff on my site. I do have affiliate links to the products that I talk about but for 5 months, it was ok, until Aug 2013. Quite disheartening.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Everyday there is some thing coming from Google. Search algorithm has been updated every week and every day. I think you were hit by one of the update. Can you give me some detail on it?

      Hi,

Try to find out the links wherever you have posted your website/webpages links. And check whether those websites are penalized by Google for some reasons like selling and buying links, black hat seo techniques, etc. If found, remove your links from those websites ASAP. If those sites are affected, then all the sites linked with them will be automatically affected. Another possibility is if your site is found with duplicate content, there are chances to drop in keyword rankings. If so, try to come up with unique content for your site.

This is the overall solution I have given by assumption. If this doesn't helps, plz come up with more details of your site.

      Thanks..

I saw some referral links from Russian sites, in languages I don't even understand and when I visited the sites, I can't find my website listed there, and I wonder how my site even managed to get referral links from them.

As my site do have products in there, there are some description of the products that I actually reviewed and rewrote them, including the specifications, that I would describe in other words, although some are still very close to merchant's specification description. I am not sure if that is the problem.

Thank you all for your suggestion, I will work on it. I half suspect could be the description of the product specification, but I can't really change much on that.

Do one thing visit google webmaster and visit links to your site. See what happened with those links. Are they good site? Also please use branding for keywords for example if your site is xyz your keywords should have xyz in it. So that google thinks this is natural linking.

if you used backlinking techniques and over used anchor texts for seo backlinks you might have got penalized.

try to check that or get help from an seo expert

It would be impossible to know unless you share more details about your back links and what you have done in the past. There have been lots of updates and each update target different things. Also it also depends on what you competitors have done as well. Do you know and are you measuring this?

  • I wrote an article and it was with ezine articles.

I paid for directory submission from Fiverr once, this could be something that has gone wrong.

I am still learning and trying to find ways to measure everything to have a good feel of what works and what not.

Both are bad neighborhoods when it comes to SEO/links.

Thanks for highlighting that. I was thinking the Fiverr could be unreliable but would think that ezine articles would be safe. I guess I was wrong.

You may try to disavow you link form webmaster tools. Remove reciprocal link also. It would be better if you consistently monitor your webmaster tools. This will concern you regarding your site.

You have a completely unnatural link profile. Everything suggests your publishing low quality crappy articles and submitting them to article directories.

Your site is not affected from Google. Try to get backlinks from high PR sites. Only content can't push you on first page of search engine. You have to optimize the page and get some quality backlinks.

I agree with you, its very important to get quality based backlinks from an authorized site. So either you do on page or off page do quality based work.
