Default Have you ever seen this happen in Adwords?

Hey all,

2 weeks ago I started a search and content based ad campaign.

The first week I had roughly between 100,000 - 130,000 impressions per day and was getting some decent traffic.

The second week (last week) my highest impressions were mid week at 34,000. And at the 1st half of this week until today, it looks the same...very low in comparison.

That's a drop off of nearly 4 x !

Nothing changed in ads that were running, no caps were put on content impressions and no daily budget issues (daily budget at £5,000).

What the heck is going on there? Anyone else seen such a drop before?

There's no major competition coming in that I can see, so all that leaves is the possibility that a site that was giving loads of Adense impressions has shut down or something?

It's really weird...any suggestions are truly welcome!

Cheers,

Nick

I guess someone could have raised their bids so their ads are getting served before yours.

hmmm good point - but my ads are on auto bid. so i'll pay to get seen if I have to! This is either a major up and down niche (unlikely) or something fishy is going on with Adwords!

Maybe a site where your ads were displaying a lot simply blocked you. Or decided not to display ads anymore, at least as far as Adsense is concerned.

You mention both a search and content network campaign. I assume most of your impressions come from content. But if you had a large percentage coming from search, could it be just less searches for your keywords? Maybe it's a seasonal or fad thing.

As mentioned before, you may have dropped to second page (search stats will tell you that) or on the content network, not making the cut. This may be because of others bidding more than you, more competition or a combination of both. Other advertisers, new and existing, may simply have created better ads than you.

Could be many reasons.
