Hello Warriors... Is the percentage of the profit that you receive from Google directly related to the quality of your website? I think it is... When I first started my energy website, I recieved on average $0.2 per click. I forgot about the website, and a month later my pagerank raised to 3, and when I checked my earnings I received on average $0.8 per click! Is this evidence that google gives minimal earnings to new and low quality spammy websites? Makes sense to me that they will do it... |

Google won't say. However, I figure it's 50% of the revenues generated from your site but I'm probably wrong. It is for sure a certain percentage. Exactly what the figure is - or how it might be calculated if indeed they figure out some sort of site quality score - we'll never know. As an advertiser, I see no evidence that site quality affects costs. |

Google uses a rating system called SmartPricing. No sure of exactly how it works, but it is based on expected conversion rate for the advertiser. This is most likely related to quality of the landing page on your site. If Google believes your page will generate a high conversion for the advertiser, they will send higher paying ads to you. At least that's been our experience.

Looks like this is a big mystery? I did a quick test, I started a content campaign on adwords to see the minimum bid for the keyword that a certain page of mine is getting clicks from. Now, my avergae earnings per click is 95% the value of the minimum bid! SmartPricing is really a mystery, wished someone had some empirical data on how it works. But it definatley has something to do with the quality of your page. Why I'm so sure about that is because my energy site (high quality) gets higher earnings per click than my lose weight (low quality) site. And we all know the latter is the more competitive niche |

| Page Impressions Your Page Impressions are simply the number of times your web pages are viewed. Of course, this number only refers to those pages that contain your code for AdSense. Think of one impression as a display - every single time your web pages are displayed, your impressions go up. It's the same thing. In terms of money, the more impressions or displays you get, the higher the chance you have of making more money. Clicks This is the actual number of times that your ads are clicked upon. Thus, each time a visitor to your site clicks on one of your ads, it is recorded as a Click. Every Page Impression you receive is an opportunity for one of your ads to get clicked. In terms of money, the more Clicks you get - the more money you can make with AdSense. Page CTR Your Page CTR refers to your web page's Click Through Rate. Your Page's CTR, or Click Through Rate, is the ratio of the number of Clicks you receive versus the number of your Page Impressions. The number is expressed in a percentage and is calculated by taking your Page Impressions and dividing them by your Clicks (# of Clicks / # of Page Impressions). Page eCPM This is where things start getting interesting. Your Page eCPM refers to your Effective (the "e") Cost Per Thousand Impressions (the "CPM"). Yes, I know. "CPM" is not quite an accurate English acronym for "Cost Per Thousand Impressions". The reason is because the acronym uses the Latin for "Thousand"; i.e.: "MIL". Earnings Per Click Your Earnings Per Click or EPC is simply the average amount of money you make per Click you receive. It's calculated by taking your Earnings and dividing it by the number of Clicks you get. |

> I did a quick test > my avergae earnings per click is 95% the value of the minimum bid! A test like that means nothing and is worthless. Not everyone will have the same minimum bid based on their ads' quality. And not everyone bids the same not to mention that even when bidding Adwords' recommended bid, your actual CPC can be much lower. > SmartPricing is really a mystery See What is smart pricing? - AdWords Help Clicks are probably worth more in the energy niche. Little to do with your site's quality. |

| SEO plugin for firefox as well as we can get a actually good idea of what their CPC actually is as well as can be. High value ads with high end CPC are going to be on sites that have the greatest return to the advertiser.

Google pays 51% rev share with Adsense for Search. If your site doesn't convert for advertisers, then you will get smartpriced.

not amazing. That's why this forum is filled with people who got banned by adsense. They don't read a thing google publishes. They think google puts all those articles up for their health. This stuff is not hidden people. It should be common adsense knowledge. But look at all the "I'm guessing..." Paul
