Does HomePage PR influence the inner page?

I have a questions guys from all SEO experts.
If there is a site which has a PR of 3 or 4 and its a blog. If i ask the site owner to publish a an article for me with one backlink within the content, then that article will have its own url like http://blabla.com/abc/xyz.php or something like that.

Now though the blabla.com will have PR3 or 4 or anything, but that URL of that article page where my backlink is created will have 0 PR.

Many of my friends says that it will be useless for me as the page where my backlink is provide is 0. The link should be on homepgae. But if i do that it will act as blogroll, which i dont want to use due to Google.

I always thought if i am giving a backlink in any article and the homepage of that site has a good PR then my backlink will also have an advantage for that.

So will that backlink or multiple backlinks like that help me to increase my PR in future or not? I hope i explained well my query.

Thanks.

Surely It will help you. Since the blog from where you are getting backlink has 3 or 4 PR that means this site has good Domain Authority (DA) and Page Authority (PA). Obviously It will help you. DA and PA is also one of the parameters among several others which influence keyword ranking.

If the site owner writes a article for you containing link to your site on his site then that new article will be published like a new page that page will have PR 0 and no use to your site.

If he links your site link to his home page which has PR 3 or 4 then it will provide link juice to your site.

    Hope this explanation helps you.

Exactly, these are two logic i have heard from people. Mostly people says that due to good DA, it will good for my site as far as SERP is concern. But it wont help to improve my PR.
My objective was to improve PR. So people suggested me that if i pay someone to add my link in any article, then rather writing a new article as it will have its own page with PR0, i should look for some old added blogpost with better PR in any blog and ask the owner to link any keyword in there.
Now problem with me, that how do i find a blog page or blogpost which itself has a better PR.

    Can you guys help please?

    Thanks.

surely it does. You may have seen so much examples in your daily routine as a se optimizer. If you post your link on a directory and the directory would approve it. The page where your link is posted would also have 0 pr. Same as that with forums, articles, blogs, social book marking, and so on sites. The main thing is the domain name and how the domain has the authority. If the domain is of good reputation and page rank then the links posted within that site would also be given weight and thus in this sense your site would be given some weight from which your site would get some authority.

The problem with a "normal" blog is that the post slides off the home page and disappears inside the site - so you get some benefit, but not much

Nobody is going to give you a home page link unless you pay them for it

A blog set up as "pages not posts" (articleunderground.com) would be better for you - provided your article was one of the "pages" and not a "post"

Alternatively you could seek out a site that is not a blog - then your article page would be more visible and eventually get some pagerank

Its possible your post on a blog would eventually get some pagerank - but blogs usually have a lot of content, so you wouldn't get as much pagerank as a smaller HTML or PHP site

Yes it does, but you need to do work for your inner pages. Don't depends only on the home page PR.

It has a lot to do with the sites innerstructure of the site. I structure my sites so most posts are two hops away from the home page. This works pretty well if its a post I dont have any interest in ranking I'll remove it from the main structure

DA and PA are not parameters that influence rankings. Google, nor any other search engine, does not look at DA or PA.

That are a lot of really bad answers in this thread.

PageRank is a measure of the quality of incoming links to a webpage. If there is no direct path of links from a homepage to an inner page, then the homepage's PR holds no influence over the inner page's PR.

If the article that your backlink is placed on is internally linked to a page with PR, that PR will flow to your article page and your website. So, once your article slides off of the PR3/4 homepage, with the right internal linking, it may acquire a PR1/2 once it is off the homepage.

I also want to point out that PR0 backlinks are still beneficial and will help improve your rankings. Thus, even with poor internal linking, the article will still have some value once it slides off the homepage (assuming search engines can find it).

The deeper you nest pages (links) away from the PR page the more PR/authority drops off.

    Example:
    • PR Page1 (strong PR)
      • Page2
        • Page3
          • Page4 (weak PR)

    Example:
    • PR Page1 (strong PR)
      • Page2 (strong PR)
