I am in competition with many pr0 pages and if i had a pr1 ; i'm thinking I would trump them. I have been adding backlinks the past two weeks; when do I start seeing them show? All are pr4 and up; most 6 & 7

Google doesn't update PR very often. You may well have a PR1 or even PR2 site by now if you're getting high PR backlinks. But it might not show for weeks or even months down the road. Sorry, but them's the facts. ![]() Keep going, don't stop. Be sure you're using good keywords (phrases that get searched every day on the SE's + don't have a ton of competing pages). Never lose sight of the basic SEO formula for getting free search traffic... Keywords + Content + Links = Targeted Traffic John |

Thanks John; makes it clear. Wanted to make sure that I'm not doing this for nothing. In the meantime, I will beef up my article marketing.Do you have to backlink your articles? I'm having success on page 1 just posting in ezines so far. I haven't tried backlinking them; but as you can imagine, I could start writing 100's that would need backlinks.Outsourcing possibilities?

You can get a feel for how well your efforts are doing just by checking your rankings. Your rankings will change much more often than your PR gets updated, and is the best guage to know if you are on the right track. After all, rankings and traffic is the end result you want, regardless of what your PR might be. There are a number of free tools to check your rankings as well, including Google's webmaster tools and a firefox rank checker plugin. |

It took me 5 weeks to get to PR3 for my new site. I just did posting on high PR related forums and couple of links from PR3 sites to go with my original content. So, if you follow the same, I am sure you can even get more than PR1 |

If your article was written in relation to your site, you are crazy not to link it back. Ezine has a lot of authority in Google and the backlinks are worth their weight in Gold to a websites ranking. Forget about PR, in your case it wouldn't be playing any part in your rankings. Im always seeing PR0 and PR! pages outranking PR4 and PR5 pages. The most important part of your backlinking effort will be the use of your targeted keyword in the anchor text of your backlink. This is known as keyword relevance. So when linking back to your site from articles, be sure to use your targeted keyword as your anchor text. Submit that article to the 10 best article directories and you should be outranking those other pages in no time. Make sure ya bookmark evey article and link you post, this ensures the articles and links will be spidered by the search engines and indexed pretty much straight away. | |

Well, keep doing what you are doing and you will get more than a PR1. Just make sure that the anchor text is the words you are targeting or otherwise you can have the highest PR and still not get top ranking.

Yeah, like some of the member here have mentioned, Google doesn't update their PR indexing very often. You'll just have to keep working at it and do the usual stuff: blogging, adding new content, getting back links and etc. My site has been live for just over 2 months but was lucky to be ready by the time Google updated their PR index. Your PR isn't everything, but I definitely noticed a boost in my ranking in the SERPs due to my PR2. I am sure that my site will at least be a 4 by the next update. |

Well keep building quality backlinks from high PR sources, its the backlinks that count the most in Google PR Algorithm. But google updates takes round about 3-4 months. and the google update has recently happened and so you need to keep up with your link building efforts for another 3-4 months to see your site grow in PR with the next update.

I suggest you to wait a couples of weeks, although google major pr update only take place once every 2-3 months but minor toolbar update usually takes place every 2-3 weeks! I am sure your page rank would go up in weeks if you have the backlinks as you described. Good luck :-)
