Default Need to dominate some pretty competative Keywords, pretty darn quick

Hey Guys,

You may have seen my previous thread on the music event I'm putting on this October. I've found some killer keywords and the blog will be up all being well over the weekend.

These keywords have competition ranging from 3k competiting to 13k, either way I want to give it a try. Now due to the nature of the event and it's timing I have about a month or two to start dominating the front page.

So I could really do with some suggestions on perhaps some more powerful backlinking techniques, or if you want to come forward and offer a service, i've set a budget for how much i'd like to spend on marketing.

Talk soon

Alex

If you can get each of your keywords as a domain then you could easily do it.

I registered 1HourMuscles.com and rank #1 for the search term
1 hour muscles
out of 12,9000,000

"1 hour muscles" is not a big searched for term but it should work for you with the lower numbers of competing sites for your terms

I do not think there is an exact method to dominate keywords in less than 2 months, that is a quite hard goal. SEO is a long process and if you are no patient and try to fasten up things, you can get banned or your site can start loosing positions instead. In this case I recommend you to search for other kind of online marketing to get more traffic on this 2 months, or try to apply for search marketing and pay for nice position on those keywords

Time doesn't really come into this, you should seo the site and build backlinks just like you do with any other site. There is no way to speed up the ranking of a site, you've just got to be patient.

If you build the site the correct way, write content that is keyword relevant and build a solid backlink campaign, you will rank high. Sometimes it can take a day to position yourself in the SERPs, sometimes it can take weeks.

If you can get the exact keyword .com .org or .net you can rank much faster just like julesbrad said. Aside from that, set it up as a wordpress blog with all the usual seo plugins. Then go after the social media spam. You will get multiple properties in the serps. The australian guys here have a site that teaches the social media spam thing pretty well... Its Tim something. I think his site is something like take over page one dot com or something like that... They are affiliates and use the social media sites to rank very fast... Howie scwartz has a lot on it too, but i think the australian guys stuff may be more practical.

Since this is an event, get a press release written for you with links back to the blog. There are a few warriors here that could do that for you, though be prepared for some expense. A good press release can cost a bit.

Then issue the press release through some of the PR sites that are available. It should get picked up and distributed through the net, maybe even by some of the bigger news organisations.

This will do three things:
  1. The links in the press release will be coming back from whatever sites are hosted giving you some juice.
  2. You may get some significant traffic from the PR alone with folks interested in the event bookmarking it as a reminder,
  3. and some of these visitors will link to your site, or the PR, from their blogs and websites, also giving you significant improvement in your rankings.
Edit: Oh and when you do this, absolutely, definitely, indubitably, positively ensure that your website is capable of handling a lot of traffic. If the PR strikes a chord with your readers (pun intended) you might find yourself experiencing the Digg effect.

And that's another thing. Digg users might be attracted to a music event. Write a top notch article and submit it to Digg, and also submit the page on your website with the PR.

Cheers, John

A friend of mine and I would LOVE to use this as an experiment for some backlinking concepts we have been working on.

Drop me a line if you like to work with us on it.

SEO is really a long term process to get better results in most Search engines but doing it in hurry will cause your site banned from indexing nearly for 30 days specially by google!!!
