Is This Linking Technique a Winner or Sinner for SEO??

Hey Guys...
Just wondering if you could critique the way this website http://www.meditation-music.com.au has used keywords linking to other pages at the bottom of their site for me and let me know if
a) It's a good thing
b) It's not a good thing and why

and lastly what you would add/change about this keyword / linking strategy.

Just to be clear I'm not interested in a critique on the page as a whole (to me it's ok but kind of ugly too) just the keyword linking strategy at the bottom - this bit

We can't really determine anything from a picture.

I'm assuming that all those links point to the same url which is the actual domain that they are on?

Personally, I don't see the point in linking like this. Maybe you can argue that it's good for internal linking. I could see the point in 2 or 3 links like this in your footer but not 6 or 8.

I'm interested in what more experienced seo gurus have to say.

using a keyword rich footer is pretty standard so its fine, but i wouldnt pass my link juice onto their site like you are doing. make them take down the 2 footer links to their site.
