Default Squidoo SEO Basic Question.

When I'm setting my my squidoo lens. Let say the my key word is

Yankee Doodle Dandy

Is it best to make my site squidoo.com/yankeedoodledandy?

or squidoo.com/yankee-doodle-dandy?

Thanks so much everyone.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the dashes matter. Google will be able to figure out your keywords either way.

I use dashes a lot myself and seem to be able to rank well. I think it's easier to read that way sometimes.

Stiz -

Hi.

I tried searching in Google, Yahoo, and MSN for yankeedoodledandy and they all treated it as Yankee Doodle Dandy.

However, I can see where there may be some cases where the search engines could parse it incorrectly.

For example, let's say you had a site that was selling "import ant farms." If you run this together as importantfarms then all three search engines will actually treat this as the phrase "important farms."

Best to check the phrase on the search engines first, just to make sure they are parsing the phrase the same way you do...

Just my 2 cents.

Wendell

Hi, I use both methods, depending on what the keyword or long string keyword is and if it makes sense when you look at it, and honestly I rank very, very well with both methods.

Hope this helps

Makes sense, thanks for this.

Also in Squidoo they keyword phrase will more than likely be taken so try with dashes between relevant words or each word.

Not true - Google uses dashes as word separators (and not underscores).
Explained in this video:

I'd go hyphens, Matt Cutt's recommends it so it must be good.

Asides from you wanting to know that..

I want you to know that to stick at with your Squidoo lenses.

Work hard at them and test everything.

You'll learn a lot about SEO. An awful lot.

I spent a whole year playing with a Squidoo lens to see what I could do with it.

I put it to the top, moved it back a few hundred, put it back to the top..

Forced the only article that was pointing to it, just above it..

I did a lot with a little Squidoo lens, and it taught me a lot too.

I want a good keyword researcher, not for min sites but for tech articles. Hit me up if you've got those skillz!
