Need help! Google.com rank 1st page but....

Hi everyone,

Does anyone has this happen to you as well?

I manage to rank my site at 1st page of google.com for a certain keyword but when i type in my local search engine [google.com.sg] my site was no way to be found?! my site did rank inside but i can't find them in page 1-10 of google search engine.

What's is it so? Is there anyway i can change that? Appreciate someone can help me out on this? Thanks

I am not an expert, but returns or ranks on the US google search will not be the same as on the Singapore Google. Google has different domains internationally to satisfy the users of the particular regions.

Google has probably decided your niche content is not as important to Singapores as it is to North Americans.

Get some backlinks from sites that are also singapore sites and you should show up well there too...

Don't go overboard though because then Google might decide that your content and site isn't as relavent for US searchers.

So to get rank high among the search engines [This include google.com and google.com.sg, we have to get backlinks from local sites as well?

Now i get it...as i was focusing on getting backlinks from international sites instead of local sites till now. Thanks guys. Will have to look into this as well. Thanks!

Ok guys,

i actually do some research and found that to get rank in local site. We have a few choice to do it.

* Domain Name – Your domain name must have the local extension of the local country. For example, if you want to target Malaysia customers, you should consider to use *.com.my extension, Australia is *.au, United Kingdom is .*uk.

* Web Hosting – Your website should be hosting in the local country or city, makes your website loads faster for your targeted customer.

* Website Content - You website content must used the language and grammar aspect for targeted country.

* Phone Number - Optionally, you can specify the local (regional specific) phone number in your website.

* Search Engine Optimization - Your website content should be tailored towards the region-country-city. You can do this as on page search engine optimization such as put it in title, keywords, and description meta tags, etc.

* Link building – Get your website listed in local directory, local search engine and link exchange with other website within the target location.

* Search Engine Settings - Use Google webmaster Tools to set your geographic location. You can do it by: Dashboard -> Tools -> Set geographic target. Then, select the country which has your most targeted customer..

Anyway i hope someone can help me out on this as i do have some inquires regarding this.

1. Does it's still work [Search in local engine] if i purchase a local domain name but host in different country? [Intend to use HG.com to host my sites instead of local hosting company] to rank highly in the local search engine

2. This link to question 1, if it's possible to get search by local search engine. Will it be possible to rank high in local search engine if we are linking [getting backlinks] from other countries [US especially] instead of local sites. [I personally feel that request linking or getting backlinks from worldwide sites is much easier / faster than getting from local sites]

3. From what i understand, to get highly rank in both google.com and local google seach engine. It's still take alot of time to do since you need both worldwide and local sites to back you up..unless it's possible to rank both if my questions that i ask is possible..as long as my domain name is setup locally.

Those who know about this, please let me know as i am eager to know how to really rank highly in local search engine instead of just google.com. Thanks

Hi,

Add 4+ link sites in your link page. And submit your site in all major search engines. Forum posting. thease are all most important.

Yes, you have to obtain some links from ".sg" or any sites which IP is on singapore... Get about 10-15 links and once those are cached, you will be top on google.com.sg too...

Thanks for your info on this! so the only way to get top is really to get those 'com.sg' / local sites? we can't really purchase a local domain name and host it with overseas then get relevant links from overseas instead of local...

Will do, then i have to search for those local sites that enable to do 'one-way links'..well

Just curious that you mention bookmark sites for listing your site in local search engine.

You mean for further increase my site in local search engine, i should bookmark those sites that have my links in it? As it give greater 'vote' to my site since it's deep link into my target keywords. are you trying to tell me this way? Appreciate your help on this.

If it does help, its really save plenty of time finding those local sites to link with. [as i am looking at one way link]
