Default Am targeting a keyword where Ezinearticle is first result.

Hello there

I have a keyword that I want to target. For broad phrase search the first result is an ezinearticle with the actual keywords as the title. First page competition seems very weak. zero backlinks according to yahoo site explorer.

If it weren't for EZ id go for it straight away but it's kinda holding me back.
So is it easy to move pass an ezinearticle that is ranked number 1.

I plan to get the domain name for that keyword but just wanted to make sure.

Thank you sirs/mames

What do you mean holding you back? The first question you want to ask is it a profitable keyword? How many sponsored ads are in search results when you type the keyword in. also, why not just write an article yourself just to see what kind of traffic you can get. That's what I would do before buying anything. But what do I know, I'm just an amateur...

Whats holding me back is that I'm not sure if I can get to number 1 in google for that keyword. Yes it is profitable, but EZ is the first result. What I want to know is can it be beaten with eg web2.0 backlinks , bookmarks etc.

It's impossible to say for sure until you try - but EZA is honestly not that hard to beat normally. You can check the PR of the article page and see how many external links it has to the article itself, get an idea if the article itself has been promoted and even the overall quality of the article and it's information.

If there's weak competition you'll often find an article somewhere near the top for a keyword phrase - doesn't mean it has to stay there.

I think EZA is much easier to overtake than many other sites as they don't have images, videos or other variety on the page. Don't let it put you off there has to be something at No1 !
