Default How many keywords per adgroup?

I am fairly new to ppc but I have been setting up my campaigns with about 6 ad groups in each campaign with one keyword per ad group. This way I can easily track my conversions. I do put two ads in each adgroup and keep the winner and replace the loser.

I have been direct linking with a cloaked link through my own domain.

But my main question is, I have been putting one keyword per ad group. Is that the best way to do it, or is it better to have several keywords per adgroup? So far I am losing but hopefully that will change.

One key per adgroup if you are doing search.
