How to Add Google Adsense in Free WP blog

Hi Warriors!

I am a newbie with blogs and IM. I am creating my website via free wordpress site. You know, xxx.wordpress.com. I am trying to add Google ads and a banner here but it seems I can't find the right place. I already have the codes and everything, I simply need to know where to put them.

Do they work in free WP or do I need to purchase my own domain first? I want to try everything on free site first and see if it works before spending anything.

You aren't allowed to add your own ads to free WP bogs.

For my free blogs I like to use blogger.com. It is owned by google and they allow you to use adsense. You may want to consider moving your blog to where you can monetize. If you can afford a cheep hosting plan, I would host my own wordpress blog before using a service that does not allow monetization.
