forum username, backlink s and profil ing

Any one know if we're doing the back link thing at forums... should we alter or change up the username?

for instance we are counseled to rewrite the title and first paragraph of press releases when we submit to dozens of press release sites.

am I possibly shooting my self in the foot by using a constant username for all 150 forums I'm signing up for?

I've thought about that too, but I have stayed with the same username. It probably wouldn't hurt to change it.
