Strange Phenomena with Angela/Paul Backlinks

First off, Angela and Paul's backlinks are great. And I think they're helping me a lot.

BUt a real strange thing is happening:

On my home computer, I see I am ranking #1 - #2 for my main terms for several sites. Its beautiful. I have reloaded my browser and typed my keywords in several times to verify this

But when I go to my laptop (with a 3g modem) or iPhone, I see I am ranking #8 and sometimes not even in the top 10.

Now -- I know about Datacenters and Google dancing.

As far as Datacenters, they are always showing me with the poor rankings (as I see on my laptop and iphone).

So my question is this:

Why the heck is my computer showing unique results for 3 different websites (by showing their keywords in the top ten)? Its showing the three websites in the top three for main terms.... yet on other sources I am near the bottom of the screen?

Has anyone else seen this?

WHOA.

The strangest thing hapepned.

I cleared my cache and cookies and then rebooted firefox and now the results are the poor results -- I am near the bottom of the top 10.

I have never known that search engine results and browsers worked together. Is this really what has happened? Am I seeing things?

Some things just don't make sense. I have an Ezinearticle or two listed #1 on Google when a guy picked up one of the the articles for his Squidoo Lens and now he's #1.

Maybe this could be an idea for you.

UGH !! How strange.

I'd type in a term, then hit search, and see it ranked as 9. I'd then hit reload several times and it woudl stay at 9.

Now I surf other sites, and then go back. Now its back up at #2.

I SWEAR my browser is sending me skewed google results.

If you don't mask ips when doing link building, or anything in your market for that matter, what you see may likely be skewed.

Kind of a given, but most importantly, be sure you are signed out of google accounts, as that will change everything.

Well, at least you are in the top 10!, or two.

On a lark, I typed in my Ezinearticle that ranks well into BING and it's very similar to Google. Same thing for MSN, have you looked at other search engines??

Your results on a computer may be skewed by being logged into your Google account. It can use your search history to change your Google results. There is a link that says something to the effect of "see results without changes" or something like this that will disregard them and show what every one else is seeing.

Yes, I have noticed the same thing and Oh wow.

I think I might cry.

My pages are ranked lower when I am logged out of Google. One that is ranked #2 on the first page logged in is showing as #3 on the second page logged out.

I sure never knew about that.

It sounds like Google Personalized Search, this throws people off sometimes.

If you search often for things that interest you in a particular area and have Google Personalized Search enabled it can skew the results so you don't get the true picture of the global SERPs.

Google is hitting it real hard: I log-off my Youtube account and i check some 3-5 videos in a particular niche - remember i was logged off.

Day after, i login into Youtube and guess what: recommended videos are in the same niche of those i was checking the day before.

Guess same thing is happening with Google search results: even if you're logged off they are using the personalized results.

I found the same question,so now I use some third SEO tools to verify my google position,the third tools' result is more accurate.and now I try not to check the position again,If I work hard on making backlinks I will finally get a good position.why I waste time to check it again and again?

I logged out of my Google account and my rankings are the same. I also periodically check with other people around the globe who manually check my rankings. They are always consistant.
