I keep seeing buzz about marketing to local or cell phone browsers being the next wave. As I don't have a laptop with wireless yet I don't know what the difference is. Do mobile computers see a different Google than the rest of us? What medium are we to use to reach this fast growing segment of people to advertise to if we don't know what is different about them? Any ideas gang? |

> Do mobile computers see a different Google than the rest of us? I don't own a web enabled cell phone but many of them from what I've seen have screen resolutions just as good as a desktop, albeit a bit smaller. My brother in law showed me his and looks the same to me. So the answer as far as I can tell is, they see the same thing. > What medium are we to use Google Adwords has a setting to enable/disable display of ads to mobile users. I'm sure there are other specialized services just to advertise to cell phones, I just haven't investigated this yet as I've had no need to so far. But if mobile users use Google or Yahoo or whatever, you should advertise using their PPC service. The question is, what kind of service would best make use of advertising to cell phones? I'm thinking restaurants, car repair shops when out-of-towners need a mechanic or a tow truck, taxis. I'm sure there's more but I can't think of any right now. |
