Default Changing the Registered Whois Info, Does google give penalty?

I have a domain that is registered in my name and I want to transfer to another business partner. We will be transferring the domain to a new registrar and if I change the Contacts, will Google see think that is a newly Purchased Domain?

How does Google determine if a domain is new?

AFAIK, it will not be considered a new domain. "newly-purchased" is a separate matter from "newly-registered".

The date of registration is more important here, I believe.

Google cache, registration date in whois. So far I've not seen any issues with transfers of domains impacting page rank. I believe that the registration date and domain/site upkeep is more important.

Hope that helps.

I have heard from some sources that changing your domain name registration info to private reduces your rankings

If there are no significant content changes it won't affect anything.

However, transfers of ownership usually come with a change in content or a period of no content or parking which can impact rankings depending on the time period involved.
