Feedback Sought on New SEO Service Pricing

Fellow Warriors,

I am in the process of developing a new seo service where a page 1 ranking will be guaranteed. Naturally there are some exceptions (adult markets and crazily competitive stuff) but I plan to offer the service to most industries.

My proposal is to offer a low upfront cost with the majority of the fee only payable once a page one ranking is attained. The service won't be cheap but most businesses on page one will easily recoup the fee from extra sales.

My question is how much would you be prepared to pay for such a service in your market?

Also any ideas/refinements on my proposed service are highly valued.

i'd be careful about the 'payable on page 1' as surely when they're on there they could just turn around and not pay you? it would take a while for them to drop pages if you've done it well and that could cost you overall :/

Good point there is some risk to that. However I can also undo what I have done quite easily and the ranking will drop back fairly quickly. Thanks for your feedback.

If you control the registration to the sites where they are backlinked ...

Pull the plug on those links - away go the rankings.

The price is going to depend a lot on how competitive the keywords are.

Pretty much anyone can get to number one on Google for an uncompetitive phrase that is hardly searched on, but if the phrase has millions of competing pages that is another story entirely.

That's why you should use an online service like elance where money is escrowed and paid when service requirements are met.

Suzanne really hit the nail on the head on this one. All markets are different. I can step into a market and DOMINATE IT within a week, but some may take 2 months+ to over power. So pricing all depends on who the client is and what they're trying to accomplish. Don't base it on only one set price and customize the pricing as necessary. I.E. A client trying to rank for something local will need less marketing services than someone who is trying to reach a national level.

And btw, don't EVER claim or guarantee a #1 listing for ANY keyword in ANY market even if you could. Google already tells people to stay away from businesses that claim that.
