I am finally experiencing some affiliate sales with one of my websites and the company whose product I am promoting is using Commission Junction to handle their affiliates.

The ads this month have received 200 clicks and I have made two sales.

Is this a typical result of 200 clicks?

Also I see that there was nearly 25,000 impressions. How do I capitalize on this?

Is anyone using Commission Junction's direct deposit payment method and if so, was it an easy procedure to get paid?

    Viv,

I'm using the Direct Deposit option for the Commission Junction program. I just did that sometime earlier this year, after having been in the "check" payment plan for several years. I was hesitant at first, but now I love it! It's so much more convenient having to have my commission go straight to my bank. Before, I'd wait for the check... and then when the check arrived, I would have to find time to drive to the bank (my bank was about 30 minutes away). Now, I don't have to do that!

Are you using both banner ads and text links? I find I get a higher conversion rate on text link clicks versus banner ad clicks. Also, direct deposit is the way to go.

      Hi

There is a mixture of both text links and banners and I have tracked down that there is one particular text ad that seems to be getting the most clicks. The company whose product I am promoting worked with me to SEO the landing page of the site which is where the clicks are coming from.

I do like the idea of direct deposit unfortunately it is proving to be a huge obstacle with me. Last months payment, which was made up of June and July sales was supposedly rejected by my bank. I have since spoken to the bank and they said they would not reject it for the fact that the last zero on the suffix at the end wasn't there.

This is how my account number looked 12345-000. The last three zeros just tell the bank whether to put it the cheque account or if it was 001 it could be a savings account etc but the main numbers 12345 and the routing code 03 0599 were correct, so I believe what the bank rep told me it should still have been able to be processed by anyone with a few brains. This was his words "two is just as good as three and that if the payment had reached the branch where my account is that anyone with a few brains would be able to see it was the same account and put two and two together" and come up with three :p.

So anyway, I added the third zero and was told I would have to wait until this month as they had finished processing their July payments. The 17th August I saw that they had processed the August payment and waited patiently for it to appear in my account. Yesterday, I discovered a message saying the bank had again rejected it and to check my account details. This I had already done last month and it was exactly right but when I pulled up the 'payment information' box yesterday I found that my account numbers were jumbled up  so instead of them looking like 12345-000 (without the dash as their software can't accept anything but numerals) it looked like this 00012345 so naturally with it looking like that there would be no way it would be accepted as an account at my bank and branch.

Now I know that when I saved the information last month that it was correct, why would I save something that isn't when I so much want to receive my money, so I am at a loss to understand how it had changed. So now I am back to the stage of having to communicate with them again to ask them to send it again, but I fear they will tell me the same thing, by the time they get back in touch with me and that is, that they are finished with Augusts payments and I will have to wait for Septembers payment before having another attempt at getting the payment through. I will of course be asking them when they get back to me (which they say will be within the next 3 working days but then there is the weekend in between which makes it even longer before I can receive a response!) to pay me by cheque, which probably won't get here for several weeks, that is of course so long as they don't say the same thing, they have finished with Augusts payments

I feel so powerless. There is no phone number listed to be able to phone them and speak directly with someone, who may be able to sort this out straight away. That is why I have asked here, if using their direct deposit has worked for other people or if other affiliates have experienced the same thing with their dealings with Commission Junction.

It is near impossible to say without knowing your product price, but for most products a 1% conversion to sales from site visitors is not bad. However 200/25,000 is a mere 0.8% CTR so that is what I would try to improve.

      Hi Peter

Thanks for that info. Can you suggest to me ways I can improve on it? The product is a diet product and there are various prices because it depends on whether they are joining the weight loss program or just buying a single item for example a packet of soup or a shake etc.

I feel I have given them enough information for them to want to click through to the vendors site but of course what they do from there is out of my control
