This is JUST how I do SEO. Tell me my problem please. I am getting into internet marketing. I made only 1 sale in 4 months so far of doing this. What a terrible rate. The reason is I get no traffic to my niche sites because I can't rank in SEO. The first thing I do is to make sure my site is set for SEO. I put keywords in the articles, set the permalinks right in wordpress and put my keywords in order up front in the articles title. The next step is I type in "do follow social sites" or "do follow sites" and I post my links to the actual do follow sites. I have a small list I have found of just 14 or so(well I have 2 lists I may have 20+ sites to post to) and that is all I can find that are good. In some niches there are no blogs so that only leaves hunting for hours to find a few more spots to post to or write articles for do follow article directories which I have yet to do much. I am trying to rank now for a couple of keywords with just 13,000+- competing sites when the keyword is put in "keyword here". It should be easy I am told to rank for these but 3 weeks later and my new site is still only on page 2 close to the bottom. I have 54 links according to yahoo. I really need help. |

See this: affiliatemarketingdiary.com/web-20/top-23-do-follow-social-bookmarking-sites/75/ mikesmoneyclub.blogspot.com/2009/05/31-dofollow-social-bookmarking-sites.html Lists like those are junk. Of all the links you might can post to like 10 and the rest are garbage. There has to be a better way. |

Change the title to a short specific keyword phrase that best represents your website to make the quickest improvement possible. That is one the site gets indexed again!

Maybe the case, but without knowing what it is you are selling, what your website looks like, and how long you have been online, (plus a whole bunch of other stuff) it is hard to say exactly. You could head over to Newbies - Stick together! and you may be able to gather some good assistance there. Bryce |

Check my site for yourself. overcomefearofdrivingacar.com The site is 3 weeks old maybe 4. I have posted to 2.0 sites and basically that is all I have posted to. Check out my site and see. I said the competition was not too high but I know the sites up top matter too. See what you think. I want to get top spots for "fear of driving". Thanks |

When you say 13k competing sites, do you mean allintitle on Google.com? If that's the case, that's a fairly huge number. You need to implement the basics of SEO. I highly recommend you get a copy of Aaron Wall's SEO Book. Submitting to social bookmarking sites and commenting on dofollow blogs is a part of SEO but not all SEO. There are hundreds of other factors that you must learn and implement in order to rank high. |

I have a question.. What are you currently doing? This would help us see the problems in your strategy in order to help you. Even after knowing that and trying to guide you in the right direction it still might not help. Because you might be targeting highly competetive keywords, who knows, (just read 13k allintitle, thats quite strong) Most of all it's best to outline what you currently do so you can receive better advice. |

You title is way to long, so that is not really any use... and ensure your content is alright... As for linking, what are the sites PR that you are linking too??? On top of that use forum sigs and directories to add more links but make the links count... |

I was thinking you'd say that and my suspicions were correct. .................................................. ................................................ You need real SEO advice? You can get it, but you haven't shown your site and your question isn't specific enough to leave that vital element out. | |

Start with long-term keywords. Do a deep research in FREE Google Adwords Keyword Tool and try to choose long-term keywords with low- comeptition and minimum 1000 searches per month. Then write a few articles using the certain keyword only 3-4 times. At last submit them to EZA, goarticles and articlesbase for maximum exposure. This tactic will help you get to the 1st page of Google within 1-3 days. This really works for me. |

As Robert K says, turn your weaknesses into strengths. Buy some good quality SEO's, study them and anything else authoritative you can find. Experiment and try new things. As questions on this forum. |

You have to setup a clean and clear ONSITE SEO and make sure meta keywords, meta tags, description, title are setup very well. After that you have to get more quality backlinks..... you can do social bookmarks + article submissions to that, as well as you have to add new content to your site regular --- This will lead you to move to TOP....

I agree with above - I think you're grabbing lots of snippets of different tactics. Forget about backlinks initially - get your on page SEO perfect first - without that everything else will be in vain. It's not difficult but if you're missing description and basic tags you don't stand a chance. Aaron Walls book is good also you can try the free version of WebCEO - download it, tell it which keyphrase you are targeting and point it a web page. It will give you a list of on page stuff that is incorrect, go through the list and keep updating the check. It's not perfect but will make sure you don't miss out the basic stuff. Good luck Neil |

I've scanned some of the replies, all make sense. You know all about the putting the right tags, heading, alt tags etc blah blah. Do you know what will reward you the most and what Google will like you for? Not worrying as much about the tecnicalities and just put good, orginal, fresh content on your site, a good few pages. If you can't write it, pay someone to write some articles for you. Now, some people will think I'm talking cr*p or this won't really work. Well, I don't normally brag, but I have a site on page 1 for a 3 word phrase that even which quote serach, has 559,000 results. That took me 6 months but position 5 on page 1 aitnt bad. I stopped trying to dupe Google into giving me a good rank and instead just gave them what they want, good content in order to give the visitor a good experience...which then means they use google more...which means google rewards you. Thanks, Phil p.s, the other 95% of the time, I talk complete crap but I'm right on this one....oh, and with back links, they should be vaired and natural, not all the same phrase. |

Hi cowsgonemadd3, You need to master the basics. Google has put out a guide for beginners and I would start there. http://www.google.com/webmasters/doc...rter-guide.pdf You need to get the basics down or it wont matter what else you do. |
