Default Does the length of an article affect it's value to Google?

My goal is to add an article to my new blog every day for the next 30 days. I know it's important for Google to see new, fresh, unique content. My question.. does the length of that content matter? If most of them are only 250 words, is it a waste of my time, or will it still help me in the SERP's?

(I know it seems lazy, but I actually have a good reason for wanting short articles.
