I have good placement on G for my main keywords, but Bing doesn't have me at all for most of them. WTF?!? Should I even care? - joel |

Yes You should, Google is the 800 pound Gorilla;but too many people for the most part, ignore the streams of traffic (and sometimes better conversions) that other search engines can provide.

I agree! The one thing about the 800 pound gorilla, he's the largest target around and some one will come along and to their best to knock him off the top of the mountain. If any one can do it, it would be the big MS. |

Haven't you heard the news. Google bought out Bing. Nah, I'm only kidding with you. But that's the analogy in my head. Google is the master, Bing just the puppet. |

I wonder if Bing is still working on their search ranking algorithms. I put up a non-commercial website with some of my pictures on it taken at a local event. After a couple weeks, Google recognized it. After a couple more weeks and a total renaming of the pictures, my pictures started coming up in an image search. During that time, Bing ranked the website in the top 4 or 5. But when I looked today, Bing didn't list it at all so I'm thinking something changed with Bing. All the keywords pertained only to the event. It was nothing competitive.

I've been using the ultimate loophole which was set up for MSN. It's been almost 3 months and no results. In fact my site isn't even indexed with Bing but is indexed with G with a PR3. I'm wondering how drastically Bing is going to affect this strategy.

I used to get some traffic from MSN now I'm getting it from Bing. My Google, Yahoo, and even AOL traffic is about the same. Bing is about the same as MSN used to be

Google has patented far too many SE technologies, and has too many advanced algorithms, for Bing to be taken seriously. If you think a few "cool" features from Bing is going to overtake the Google giant, then I'd remind you of the completely awesome technologies Google has developed which will shortly revolutionize real estate and all forms of maps through their photographs of almost every street address in the world. Bing is all hype, nothing more. The search engine is pathetic.

Bing has been working really good for me. I have a few different sites that have top rankings in Google and those rankings are pretty consistant with Bing. Since they have launched I have noticed a good amount of traffic from them. As far as my traffic goes Bing is bringing in more traffic than all the other SE except Google. I think Bing is going to get some legs and pull some market share from Google. As far as taking them off the top, I highly doubt it. Google has been around long enough to have so many search advantages and I see them staying on top for a very long time. |

Whether you get loads of traffic from google, bing, bong, whatever, all that counts is traffic. Good traffic. But seriously, about Bing. Bing will get noticed only because MS has a muzzle loader to cram stuff down unsuspecting public's throat. However, google is not worried. Bing, just the name is silly. Google is silly too, but now a name brand. MS could not get anywhere with MSN. Why do you think they are going to out google google now? They would have already done it. Google has more savvy people working for them. Can you say vista? MS is as 800 pound gorilla as google is. They can cram down their products as bundles, but as new users get experience, they slowly migrate away. Bing can only hope to gather the crumbs that google drops. Anyone want to guess why they called it bing? Maybe Baidu was a reason. How about Baidu Bing? But they may strike out. Someone should have done some research and found that Bing can mean disease in Chinese. Nuff said. As stated however, nothing bad about getting traffic from bing. Paul |

If I were you I wouldn't really give it much thought. Just go about your normal SEO routine and keep your pages ranked high in Google. Perhaps in time Bing will notice your site and rank it respectively.

Bing may not be showing you the love, but, apparently, some early focus group test shoppers are loving Bing.... Posted earlier this morning on Website Magazine ~ Quote:
If Microsoft's upstart search engine is going to have any long-term legs, they have to hit Google where it hurts ~ in the wallet. Providing a valuable alternative to AdWords could be way more important to us as marketers than the idiocyncrasies of their SERPs vis-a-vis the Big G. Bing is worth keeping an eye on.

Bing must love me... my niche blog is no 1 and no 2 for my keyword phrase. Likes me a bit better than Google, I'm only no 8 on page 1 there...

I got good (and very fast) results with the technique you mentioned although only using the site design process. - Maybe you have choosen the wrong keywords. An other site I setup two month ago gets a steady stream of visitors from Bing for its main keyphrase, so nothing to complain about.
